What to look for in an applicant...

I have been very disappointed in some of the posts I have seen towards the applicants recently by the new members so I decided to compile this list. It extends upon Benland's post.

What to look for in an applicant.

1) They practice scripting standards. (http://kaitnieks.com/scar/scriptingsta/)
2) They demonstrate plenty of use of SRL and knowledge of how to use it
3) The use of anti-randoms and player switching(when necessary)
4) Good attitude
5) Helpful on forums
6) Willingness to learn, this is probably the most important.
7) They create their own original functions and/or extend upon others and make them their own.

It does not matter if the script is too simple or doesn't have much use as long as the script shows basic knowledge of SRL and the aforementioned. Please to not post complaining about this.

If you are a new member do not vote and post right away! Please take a look at how some of us older members post and judge because nothing is worse than an instant vote without deep consideration of how to do it, also it doesn't show wisdom to say you aren't voting then when someone you think is important votes that you vote that way/change your mind.

Thanks for reading this and hopefully it will educate you on how to judge good future members.

Add originality to the list too. :)

Nice guide man. This should be stickied.

I'm not as concerned with originality as long as the functions and the body of the script is original and that goes with number seven.

I disagree TOB with 1 thing. lets say somebody made a cabbage picker upper and eater.. it had perfect use of the above.. but it was like a 150 line script and most of the lines were just randoms and player switching. I don't think that they should be accepted for that do you? I know most people don't apply with that, but if you think about it, you aren't allowed to post an auto talker even if it has full anti randoms, multi player…etc. because they are to simple, using SRL commands and knowing them or not. everything else I agree with though.
