10+ post count

Most (if not all) of the apps with no scripts from noobs that just registered and don't know what being an SRL member is about have less than 10 post count. I have rarely (if at all) seen an accepted app with less than 10 posts, and anyone that is worthy of membership with less than 10 posts should have no trouble getting to 10. I say the apply here button should be invisible until 10+ posts.

Ive said it to boreas :p

yes i think it should be.

another good reason is if they dont get in the could always re-register and try again :p.

I actually think it should be higher, because you could easily get 10 post count in 10 mins, just go to tutorial island, say nice tut to a few people then you can apply. I think it should be like 25-50, but thats just me.

bullzeye: Hehe call me a neat freak. There are too many posts/threads that don't need to be made. I think most of them can be avoided. That's why I wrote the FAQ, and member guide, and the noob thing. Yohojo's script list, RAM's tut list, and making the request section also help with this. The forum is better than it was a few months ago, but I think the app section could do with some cleaning too.

JAD: Let's start at ten and see how many empty apps we get. Or even make it a different number for each person, picked randomly from a range, because telling the public that the apply here appears after 10 posts will encourage spam.

A. It's about appliances.
B. Tell that to Ben
C. If only threads created by the autopoll thing were allowed, then Dank would have made it so that I couldn't have just made this.
D. noob!
E. :p

yeah thats what I meant boreas, and I agree with you on that. what I meant was if we did say 10 is minimum, people would spam as you said. but for the appliance thing, if we were to put that you can only apply with lets say 25 post count, people may still apply with lower post count, unless the site wouldn't even let you apply with lower post count then that, because people do post auto talkers and things like that and it clearly states that you can not do that. actually, come to think of it, I don't even think it needs to be judged just on post count :p it should be on activity and post count, because activity you actually have to be active in the community and not just spamming :p just throwing it out there.

Yea activity would give a better picture, although I don't know how that could be quantified. Postcount thing would just be a filter. We would still look at activity level and quality of those posts when voting on apps.

Exactly my thinking Boreas.

I got accepted with like 6 postcount… But if there are too many noobs applying then i think we should put a 25+ restriction on.

Vote yes I will. Post count of 10 + You must have.
Post count can show alot about an individual. If you have 100 or more post that shows that you are interested in SRL and the community. 10 + At least shows that you have looked arround and said hello.

Not necessarily, when I came back to something RS related I was given membership by Fakawi without applying by making functions and helping people and the such. I had been lurking for a while and making some minor posts here and there along with posting functions and I was interested in SRL.

Post restriction will prevent some of the empty/retarded apps, and that is it.
