16 year old Starcraft 2 Player Leenock came almost out of nowhere and won this years 2011 MLG Providence competition
with the award of $50,000 and eternal fame, along with a badass trophy.

He is now in the GSL Code S finals in Kora which hosts ONLY the BEST of the BEST players in the WORLD! If he wins again he will be awarded $46,000! And if he comes in 2nd (which he will at LEAST come in) he will get $ 18,500 which when added to his previous winnings comes out to at least $64,500 for second place, or $96,000 if he gets first place! AND HE IS ONLY 16!

You can stream a low quality version of the finals here (you must download GOM player first) http://www.gomtv.net/live/index.gom?conid=66643 and then click the 'SQ Free Live' button.

SC2 is an AMAZING game and I feel all of you should give it a chance sometime! Will post another thread in the future about that though…. :D!

Yep this sort of thing is like the norm in Korea, they're like addicted to SC/SC2. But I guess the kid is lucky for getting the prize!

I bet he's happy! I'm always jealous of these insanely rich teenage kids.

What's funny, is I read an article about the gaming addiction in Korea. Apparently it's so bad, that some children go several consecutive days without sleep. They even have "Internet and Gaming addiction treatment centers" for children to attend. But actually, I'm thinking that Korea is simply ahead of the curve, and the rest of the developed world will soon follow. I mean, just look at the ridiculous growing popularity of Facebook, Youtube, ect..
