Does it take control of the mouse or have a minimizable client?

You can use SMART. It is the client we use and it does not take control of your mouse.
PS: Don't worry about newbie questions. We don't mind answering them, we love to help.

Please post progress reports! Its as easy as copy pasting some text out of the debug box!
