YoHoJo's 7000th Post Celebration Thread

Let me start out by saying however cheesy or lame it sounds, I believe that SRL has been a pretty huge part of my (internet at least) life! The people, the attitudes, the SMARTs(lolz), the comradery and the friendship! Everything about SRL Forums (all all of it's predecessors/friends like Kaitnieks, Mopar, and Sradoin.net (I believe this was made by a guy named Abyssal shortly after Kaitnieks vanished and although it was short lived, acted as a glue to keep the old guys together before SRL came about) is AMAZING.

I feel like with all of the different age groups, religions, locations, and education we have that as a TEAM we can solve ANYTHING (even non computer related). We have sports guys, bike guys, graphics guys, music guys (Fakawi too!) army/military guys, at least one Ph.D guy, loli guys, many studying all kinds of things in Univeristies/Colleges all over the world, many who work without have going to college, youngsters, and EVERYTHING in between. (Oh yeah and a GIRL! (BeBe))

If my memory serves me right, I've been around since 2004 (DAMN! I've aged, but I won't say I'm old!).

I first found out about Kaitneiks and SCAR by googling stuff, and fell upon a site with a compilation of all kinds of bots (many one skill only GUI bots with no source) at a site made by a (polish?) guy named Friday13 (something like that). I found SCAR to be the most interesting because you could write your own scripts and it's great forums/community. For a long time I just leached like most would do, using random scripts making stupid posts etc etc. What I remeber a lot are AMAZING mining scripts by Stupid3ooo (some of his ORIGINAL functions are still in SRL, like MarkTime/TimeFromMark, etc!) and that there were MANY includes all of which were automatically downloaded by SCAR, I remember that squig and si/Osi were my favorite includes however.

My first 60 mining using a powerminer by Stupid3000.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a399/yohojo88/Screen07.jpg

I also used the (very first?) java bot called Aryan which as you can assume was super duper groundbreaking at it's time! (I was able to run freaking FIVE on a computer with (I think 512MB but maybe 1GB) of RAM single core 2.8Ghz Pentium 4 procesor!
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a399/yohojo88/Aryans.jpgBack then being 13 years old and all, the thought of programing was overwhelming as hell to me! Just looking at anything under the consts of a script made my brain hurt. But my monitoring of scripts and wanting to make tweaks to optimize them and wanting to create scripts that were requested/I wanted but weren't made made me want to learn to script so bad!

I read tutorials for days on end, practicing my techniques on flash games (like Spank the Monkey and Save Them Goldfish as you can see in my Video Scripting Tutorial #1) and soon moved onto RS. (Sidenote: I LOVE how we all strive to convert leechers into contributors while still being nice to and allowing them to be themselves, our tutorial section is such a wealth of knowledge it's AMAZING to me! ).

My very first script I ever created was called YoHoJo's PowerChopper which can be found here: http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=66549 it got way more popular than I expected and the feeling of giving back to the community which helped me so much, getting praise from fellow users, and just seeing my very own hand-typed script work properly, was uncomparable to anything else I had ever felt!!! I even took the extra step to learn how to make forms (which was a bitch!) http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a399/yohojo88/chopcop.jpg

As time went on I shifted though cycles of inactivity to activity many times each year based on irl stuff and my interest in the game, but I had NEVER completely left either Kaitnieks or SRL and never plan to!

bla bla bla Kaitnieks gone, Abyssal made Saradomin, Saradomin gone, enter SRL bla bla bla….

Then after a long period of stuff and using script for a long time I felt it was time to give back again and I made my PMS PowerMinerSupreme script! Damn did it feel good to script again and I learned many new(to me) techniques along the way which I now know are SUPER powerful and use all the time! I've always though of myself as a pretty bla scripter, but my journey making the PMS script I learned TPA (and all that has to do with them), Arrays, ACA, and other things that are very powerful you'd except me to already know :D. BIG thanks to Num for this.

I freaking LOVE the effect of the recent bot nuke both on Java bots, Runescape, and especially our community! The sudden outburst of new users (especially the ones who are so willing to expand their knowledge and script!), and especially the coming back of old/oldish timers and rejuvenation/creation of scripts!

TL;DR

I fu**ing LOVE SRL!

Anyway, congratulations.

Stupid3ooo's scripts were total boss back then, still recall it like it was yesterday when i saw pmod talk at the mining guild while i was running his script, pretty much 15 guys said something random like "Gtg" "brb dinner" and stuff like that at the same time and logged out. :D

Good memories, years have passed, makes me feel old.
Still remember solving sleepwalker words to stack up some sleep credits. :)

Either way, congrats and thanks for nostalgia wave. :D

Grazz.

I used Stupid3ooo miners too. Once a J Mod (Mod Paul) teleported to me after running the guildminer for 24 hours. He asked some questions. Luckily I was there to answer. They caught me a few weeks later.

Also Aryan wasn't the first java bot. There were many of them in rsc. Some of them were scriptable too.

YoHoJo… You're special.

Not just someone on the net who has funny and interesting comments about everything, no, more than that. A person, that's what you are to me, you're a person whom I'd imagine having a nice time with, someone whom, judging from the various aspects of your personality I've been able to deduce from your posts, would be the one best friend of mine.

Despite the fact that this might be considered as a mediocre compliment as many people say things like these, I'd like to say that this is in fact a very special thing to me. It is rare that I find people I like, in fact, I like very very few people.

I'm extremely judgemental about people and usually spend most my time analysing them, trying to come up with a conclusion : could we be friends or not ?

However, being judgemental doesn't mean I hurt peoples' feelings, oh no, I'm not that way, I just keep my bad, mean or hurtful thoughts to myself.

Maybe the idea that I dislike and avoid most people is the reason why so many of them lurk around me or try to be friends with me. I've found out however, that if I try to bond with people despite my analysis' conclusion about them being negative, the situation usually gets worse.

All this to say, love you YoHoJo, congratulations !
