Ideas for walking

Before the bot nuke, I had written a pretty solid reflection script, which mined coal in the wilderness just south of the castle and banked in edgeville. Now, that reflection is out of the picture I am having a hard time figuring out the walking to and from the coal mine in the wilderness.

I gave SPS a shot, but it doesn't seem to click more than once or twice before failing. For now, I will assume that it is my own ignorance that is preventing me from getting it working properly… so I am now trying to figure out a reliable alternative using color.

For your convenience, I posted the image of the area I will be attempting to walk.

I'm assuming that I'll have to come up with some autocolor functions and do some sort of Radialwalk or TPA walking, but I was hoping to get some good advice from color experts before I tried tackling this myself. ;) Also, the portion of the walking within the wilderness is what I am concerned about. The walking within edgeville should be a piece of cake.

I'll walk it with you and tell you what I think, k?

You could try euphemisms ObjectDTMs.

There is too little to go on. I would require at least three blind clicks. Very dangereous and high level you need to be over there. Maybe head for NPC's North west on the way to the mine, and head for NPC's south west on your way back. Callibrate on NPC's so to speak.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll look into the NPC's thing, maybe I'll incorporate something to detect the wild level you are currently in too. Is there anything that is autocolorizable on the path? I feel like I could do some sort of calibration if I could detect the trees or the brown circular hills…

I am not familiar with ObjectDTMs, could u explain it to me or link me to a thread that does?

Thanks again for the help.

I'm making a greed dragon killer and that's why I got colors for you :p

They are all automatically gathered btw.

Thanks for the colors man. All I have to do is set the compass at the proper angle and it will click the hills like a road.

If I can get the mine rocks DDTM working, this could work.

If you need help with SPS, feel free to ask me, it's easy to setup once you know how ;)

I got it set up, but I don't think I have the correct map or something is off with the area I'm walking. It works perfect in edgeville, but once I'm past the barrier it goes all to hell. I tried using paint to gather points as well as the path creator utility, but it just doesn't like the wilderness lol.

So I guess what I'm getting at is, does this seem like an issue with the map I am using? Or does it have to do with crossing over into new areas like 9_5 to 10_6 or whatever? Any help you have to offer would be appreciated. :)

Try using areas 9_5, 10_5, 10_6

You could walk W to the highest North Point of the Mountain with the black knights castle, and from there it's pretty much just a straight line north

I like that idea. Perhaps I'll incorporate it as a failsafe to the more "direct" route. Thanks.

@Marpis:

I was about to say… duhhh those are the areas I've been using… but when I checked my script, I had 9_6 instead of 10_6 :duh: I'll see if thats what has been giving me the trouble.

Appreciate all the feedback guys! Much thanks. :D

You can also try having all those areas :) I don't think 4 is too much.
