SRL Archive - RS has been updated.

Login screen buttons and graphics has been changed (not sure if this affects login?).
Uptext font has also been changed (this will be problematic for a while).
Probably others that I haven't seen YET.

i am pretty sure they did that to fuck up with color bots

it appears to have affected the login. I don't have time to log in manually and watch if any other portion of the script is affected, but it appears the login has been broken

I also realise that the minimap compass has been graphically changed too.

the fishing script from msi isnt working i already tryd to edit the name becouse the names are changed if im right and the login isnt working the compass is working as far as i see sorry for my bad english im dutch:P

In fact, hopefully all of this remains static. These updates were probably aimed at us, so you'd think they would have more up their sleeves in the way of long term ..maybe jagex doesn't have anyone that can think outside the box..You know, don't make 1 new login screen, make 20. Do this often. Change uptext once a year? Godamn, why don't they do it every few days?

tldr not sure if jagex is throwing us curves or just making some grapical updates. Annyways..

edit: logged in manually, some things are working, some are not. right click menus are different (script can not drop now for instance) but it appears SPS is fine, simba can still tell my invy is full..let me see what else i can gather from other scripts..

If Jagex had to do graphical updates all the time, that would be a pain in the butt for them. But for SRL, it should only mean minor adjustments. Although, adding a new fonts/other things to the srl library would be a pain too..

Also, the players in-game won't like the constant graphical changes. There's already people complain ahah :P

Dammit Jagex you broke my ge lookup.

I can say, that it broke the fighter script im using… It cant find the NPCs anymore because they changed the fonts lol..

- Icons have been restyled and enlarged.
- Operation text now appears within the field of play, next to the mouse cursor, when hovering over objects, giving you the important information you need while allowing you to keep your eye on the game. This can be toggled off in the “options” menu if necessary.
- Examine text will also be displayed in the field of play.
- There is a darker gradient behind text in the chat window, to increase legibility.
- The mini-map and surrounding UI elements have a new, metallic border.
- The game window has been given a decorative border.

This is just the first batch of interface improvements that we have in store, and we'll be continuing to work hard to improve it. Watch out for this, as well as more graphical and usability changes, in the weeks and months to come!

Not sure about new Simba update. Font's changing might take a while depends how hard people will work on them. Otherwise I think new SRL version will come pretty soon.

Login will be a simple tweak. Replacing the fonts…wont.

Object finding is only broken if you use UpText to gather info. color in itself cannot be broken :)

GetCompass should be fixed since rs_GetCompassAngleDegrees was fixed.

i am not a gamer developer or a scripter but i am a business student and there is something called opportunity cost meaning the time you are going to use to end color bots could be used to improve the game client or do other important stuff

They cant and they won't. It is simply a graphical update they do once every two years. Best we hold still for a couple of days or so, and let them alter to their hearts content. Many updates will follow.

Speaking from experience business is one of the easiest subjects if you have common sense (which is not so common!) and understand the real world. If people need an article on 'opportunity cost', and its implications to Jagex then they are not with the real world ;)

This would be true if Jagex was a publicly traded company owned by shareholders, who only care about profits. But as a private company, if they feel it's a matter that's "close to their heart", they can do whatever the hell they want even if it means it's not financially profitable. Then again there's no way they can remove color bots even if they wanted to, so this doesn't really matter.

Maybe it will change, maybe not. I think Jagex is keeping safe mode the most "classic" they can, knowing a large minority of their playerbase likes to play on it as it is.

They can remove color bots if the decide to get a whole new engine.. Which means no java etc. But thats a no-no for Jagex.

Well normally with a company wich makes profit and is being stock trades the shareholders would only care for the money and well jagex does only care about the money but, jagex has a problem with people who buy membership get banned and chargeback or use stolen creditcards for example.

They just get forced to keep the payment providers happy but they still make money from botters just not f2p ones that's the reason why they limit f2p accounts becouse they earn no money from them.

The way I see it and the way jagex sees it is that runescape is botscape and that's pretty much how it is.

If they really wanted to stop botting then they could add a option to buy gold and buy stats wich would pretty much make this impossible and well unnececary to bot.

I'm sorry but on every site I see people thinking Jagex don't care about money just because they banned a lot of accounts.

Bots were killing the game: less and less real players were putting real time into the game because of how annoying it is to think everybody else is just letting their pc play for them and because of the low prices of items.

Now people bot for 2 reasons: Money and "Fame". If their were less real players then less people would buy gold/accounts/items so the price would go down. Once the price goes down the number of bots decreases, still staying roughly proportional to the number of players and continuing the cycle. As for fame, if most of the players are bots then you no longer have an advantage and your 99 cooking doesn't mean much at all, thus the bots disappear proportionally to the number real of players.

This vicious cycle would of eventually kill runescape and Jagex would cry because they were making no money.

My question is: How will they get more players in-game? Any strategies to that?

My Chicken Finder works 90%, since it's adapted to working without an uptext check and is very accurate. :) I just need a bitmap for chooseoption and it'll work 100%.

Lol i failed hard. I left my powerminer run for 45 minutes while ChooseOption didnt work so it standed there clicking on the inventory. Hope i dont get banned/flagged

Reflection I guess but no he might even added water to simba since color is simple to be stopped just make it a game for the blind and ur done.
It's hard to to stop color bots in a way legit players don't get affected that's the only problem.

Yes can we please not discuss that fagget lol. So the chooseoption is the reason msi's miners that bank aren't working. I set up a bot through teamviewer on my phone on lunch break and just checked to find it never banked the first load of coal. This was 2 hours later on my next break, wonder if I managed a ban on my lvl 114 lol ill be pissed. 99 mining takes forever to bot lol. Thanks again to the admins/developers for making it all possible. I look into scripting tutorials a couple days a month but I never can advance my knowledge beyond absolute basics lol

it really is almost done they already fixed login and uptext, the only remainder im aware of is chooseoption, which after the speed of the others shouldnt take long at all. I was honestly surprised at the speed of their updates, I was expecting maybe 3-4 days of downtime. Be patient, and thank the admins

Yes the pop-up is probaly from Jagex i got a few Jagex pop-ups to and you are running signed because unsigned got removed.

When you started playing runescape and came across that huge wall of text where it said "agree to continue" and you pressed "agree", you gave Jagex permission to do that. So no, it's not against any privacy laws. There's nothing you can do about it.

EDIT. And for the record, it bothers me a lot that they can "spy" my computer, but other games do this as well. It's nothing new, and as it's unavoidable, I don't waste my time worrying about it too much.

Meh a simba popup to allow something but i pressed don't allow but still it is allowing something I think.
Stats checking but it looked like some other programm wanted to access simba and no a hacker woulden't ask….

They can search for *ANYTHING* on your computer when you allow runescape to run.
