Its gonna be another 20 years before we can buy this I assume.

I'd say not quite that long actually.. Haha, considering I've had my laptop for about 5 years and it has a dual core, one of the first for laptops, and now we see eight-cores out for PCs. If it keeps doubling… like what's his face's law says it will (someone remind me please, I'm so tired). Then we could see this kind of thing much sooner.

Moore's law
Every 18 months we will see a double in speed, for about 20 years this has been true and has yet to be proven wrong.

There will be a point where we cannot miniaturize anymore because it will interfere with the operations of the part. So we either make the parts themselves bigger or find a new way to compute(like quantum computing).

I'm going to predict it will only be 4 years before these are available. There are already 12 core Xeon processors available. 2-3 years ago the highest amount of cores in a micro processor was 6.

Sounds interesting but I doubt regular users can gain anything from 50 cores. 4 is plenty of processing power

For now, trust me soonish we need to have a 8-core to be able to play games smooth. Look how they're developing now a days :p

Are there any games that even use or require 6 cores yet?
