Alright so recently I've noticed an influx of Chinese bots at Alkharid.
Literally I've seen 7-8 characters with qing, ping, wang, and chu in there names. Of course the legits reported them all. However the only working bots we know of are Simba and RID. We have two good Alkharid smelters for public use. Maybe those gold farmers are using our scripts? This idea bugs me for various reasons.
1. Gives Jagex a legit reason to go after us.
2. Our scripts that we put in so much time to make might be abused.
Maybe an admin can check logs of recent users who have registered and see from where they are? Or maybe this is me getting paranoid again…
Its peoples choice to release scripts or not. Obviously they might be abused but thats the risk taken. So what if Jagex comes after us?

Your not getting my point.
We don't need chinese gold farmers to infest our site for there own use.
"So what if Jagex comes after us?" It means everything if they come after us.

They will come after us if we get too big and mess up their game.
I highly doubt goldfarmers will use our scripts, I bet they made their own working post-nuke bot somehow. From them rs=real money and I've heard from many reflection/java pros that it's totally possible ref will be back it just takes time. So I bet they have a working bot now or something. I remember long ago they had RSDemon bot (I believe this was made by/used by Chinese mainly/only).

Not all goldfarmers are chinese :duh:. And yes it is highly possible people abuse the scripts from this site, which is why i dont like good scripts being released to public(should be srl members+) and also a reason why i don't release scripts that could be abused :fiery:(i only release quest scripts!!!:sasmokin:). But its upto the individual scripter, if they choose to release good scripts, then either they are either ignoring the consequences(that we might turn into the next rsbot/kbot/rsbuddy/w.e) or they are not aware of the consequences.
perhaps put in a default srl stats to your script so we can tell which script is getting abused. I dunnot what that could be used for but it'd be interesting to see…

Lots of people use Anonymous (Stats account Harri created) as a default in their scripts. Also having a default account wouldn't help that much that would just mean that anyone who didn't enter their own would get recorded, not just 'gold framers'.

^ he means each script. Then you tell WHAT script it is, not necessary WHO.

Which works. Say a script is reported to the creator that its getting abused, the creator can take steps to prevent that.

No way chinese bots can be that efficient with our "archaic" methods.
I'm sure they've probably already got something figured out.

Besides, it is my firm believe that the Chinese have their own way of dealing with things. They certainly don't need us for their goldfarming, lol. And if the Eye of Sauron should focus here….well…..then we'll just close the gates. There is nothing illegal going on here.

Perhaps they're using their own private scripts?
speaking of gold farming and chinese people.
You know how the creator of blizzard got sued and lost?
If they created their own private goldfarming simba scripts for themselves, they could be abusing rs rules but using a legal program, could they get sued for that?
This question applies to every nation btw.

They probably are sweatshop workers goldfarming, that used to be a problem… That and they have really talented programmers too who already could have built another bot. Believe it or not iBot, powerbot, and rsbuddy were not the only java bots before the bot nuke, they were just the most prevalent english bots

The argument used to be that simba isnt made for runescape cheating. Its the people who create the script and use it are breaking the runscape rules
