Do we have a way to detect an items id or name, given a inventory slot, or a picture of it? Such as a minimalist library containing some sort of tree algorithm with entries for every item id. These pictures I assume could be ripped from the GE with relative ease.

Any ideas?

And I don't think it would be difficult to write a script to go through the images and develop a relatively optimized tree structure, and samples from each image.

There's MSI's object database which is kept up to date, (we might look into a way of being able to include MSIs database of objects only, so that ppl can include it in their scripts easily), and there's blacklists which are somewhat developed and allow you to identify and recognise items real time.
