Different Outputs

This has also been reported on the Mantis tracker.

directory: (win 32)
Simba.exe (stand alone) (not compiled from source)

Scripts folder
All other SRL related files are compressed in same folder

A small problem came up with this loop:

program new;
var
i: integer;
begin
for i := 0 to 255 do
writeln(chr(i));
end.

The Simba Debug and Console windows were showing different characters. One output is Ansi and the other is UTF8.

UTF8 is the default for the Lazarus IDE, so I had to find the reason for this difference.

The answer is that the git files are saved in both formats.

I use Notepad++ to open sources files at random to find the differences.

Why would this make a difference? Performance.

For proof of Concept, simply use the Pegtoy Simba edition. It contains writelns commented out with a time output. The double printing outputs make Simba standalone take a performance hit, so I can see the cumulative effect if you are running more than one Simba or SMART. 1 writeln = 2 outputs, now loop it.

Still why the concern? Because that precious time can be used for the processing of color search or other vital functions.

Suggestion is to set text editor to save default UTF8. As changes are pushed to the git the Ansi will be replaced with UTF8, at least that is what I would think.

I am still looking further into a complete resolution for this.
