Just looking at the people coming from rsbuddy lately, I don't see them staying here for long… I mean if there's a thing called leecher, this is it. They don't read announcements. They don't read any sections other than public scripts. They download a reflection script, put it in simba, copy the error and post it in an old thread.
I mean come on… look around a little? You are here BECAUSE reflection is down, and you're wondering why reflection scripts aren't working? Really?

Well… they'll learn soon enough. I believe Harry made an announcement given in X amount of days if your reflection scripts aren't updated to Color then they'll be moved to a separate section. (Outdate or Reflection only?) Anyways he'll be moving them soon, so great job on that Harry, you're a huge help!
I've seen clients come and go.
Was the biggest mess of all.
Srl foot is dug into the ground.

Most of them, unlikely… They're more likely to quit runescape all together than they are to actually learn some basic troubleshooting skills.
I hope some of them stay though, and learn some things

Likewise, for sure. Hopefully they can break out of the black 'n white world of reflection and into the wonderful, dynamic world of color. :garfield:
I'm Here From Rsbuddy And its Strange i haven't Heard of this bot till now it seems pretty good and the community is probably 500x Better Than Rsbuddy's So I guess i Am Here To stay even if the other bots Update.

Don't group them all together, there are a lot of them who are cool and motivated and seem to fit right in, no need to make a thread hating on ALL of them! They are all individuals :]. Some are are just fine!

The best are those not exploited.
I'm hoping the activity will not put villavu on the top of google's search list when ever someone searches RS Bot.
And yes… It would be nice if all would search and read a little before asking.

Yeah I know some seem like they could be really helpful for the community, but when I made this thread I had just replyed to 5 different reflection scripts with the same sentence "reflection is not working blaa blaa blaa" and was more or less furious.

Oh, I was actually thinking of buying Adwords for 'rsbuddy fix', 'powerbot down' and 'autominer'

The times when you want to hide in a corner and lock the door ;(.
But seriously, I know what you mean. I'm a former RSBuddy refugee and truthfully, it's not only embarrassing being one, but it's embarrassing seeing others. I do look around before posting errors though.
In other words, I agree with you, yet I'm in no position to talk.

This is me so far. =)
I was about to try my hand at scripting for RSBuddy but this looks just as interesting to me.
I did some minor SCAR scripting back in the day too lol

yea you'll find a lot of neat things in the SRL include that will do all the main stuff for you like dropping items, depositing etc
http://www.youtube.com/user/YoHoJoSRL#p/u/1/pMMejhyjGwIthat's an awesome video from yohojo (can't find the thread where he posted) but it'll teach you a lot of the basics and such.. good to watch even if you know what you're doing

Some of them are here to learn this new method of scripting. The others and purely leeching. And I hate leechers…in-community, in dunge, everywhere…
They have to decide, or they stay for good or they don't even create an account at this community.

To be honest I'm one of these guys as well. However I've always wanted and attempted to get into scripting (tried powerbot/nexus) and although this appears more difficult I'm liking it more overall. From the community to the problem solving included in color scripting, its a nice and welcoming challenge

Sadly, the same as BuckWild. I was also trying to script but it is really difficult and there isn't a real reason to do it there. Here it is easier to learn with better tutorials and if i can finally script i can gain something, respect more scripts, the black market and a nice sexy yellow thing that says SRL MEMBER xD

I used to be an RS Buddy refugee until I took an arrow to the knee.
In seriousness though I've been around the runescape "cheating scene" for the past 8 years here and there never really made a name for myself anywhere, I started with Scar(remember when having a script fix your pick/axe head was badass), then Quit after my main got banned(not from botting,) then came back right around construction was released used RSBot for a littlewhile and stumbled upon IBot then ended up quitting again, So when I came back I remembered IBot and stuck solely with it until I realized the lack of a good dungeoneering script then started using IBot/RSBuddy in conjuction with each other. So thats my trip through the botting world to this point, so you can call me w/e you like :P.
Have any of you actually wrote anything for rsbuddy while it was up?
Mr. Bottomtooth
2011-12-08 19:49:47
@MeatyFrog - Hahaa Scar, good old times! ;) I have my first memories from RS cheating scene when I tried to run StarBlasters essence miner on scar, but it didn't work. Looking back I'm pretty sure I didn't install SRL correctly, I was a kid back then. :D

I agree the amount of leechers has increased exponentially. We must admit though several are going to get frustrated, and instead of asking questions they will not want to wait and they will open a tutorial. Then a scripting tutorial to make the bot do what they want it to do, then we have more scripters and soon to be Members. The leechers will eventually leave for the first reflection/injection bot to become functional again, and will leech there just as much, I'm sure. The increased awareness of Simba/Scar/SRL is the important part I guess. At least we have MSI with a GUI, something most are familiar with, although there have been so many questions with MSI itsself that I will be writing a guide later today to explain all of its uses.

I was here way back in the day, then I didnt bother with RS for awhile, and came back like a year ago and just went with RSbots. I recognize some of the bigger names on here from awhile ago. Just wondering why you guys never converted haha

2011-12-12 18:16:13
Lol, if we converted, you'd be without a bot to use, and not to mention the great community. :)

I'm like a homeless man, just wanting to better myself on Runescape without putting so many hours of my life into it :( I do appreciate everyones work that i have 'leached' from. One day I will find time to sit down and learn how to do it myself! Which would be a big help to be honest.

I gotta say I'm interested in learning the scripting for Simba, and the community here seems great.

I'm not an "Rsbuddy Refugee" I've coded reflection over at RSCA and I've come here because it reminds me of SCAR and looks easily scriptable and I'm willing to learn and put in hard work.
I think the real people we need to worry about are the "Leechers" that just post whore and Leech off other peoples scripts and not bring anything decent out themselves, so stop stereotyping and maybe do something decent yourself.

Not all old RSBuddy, Nexus, Powerbot, etc etc users were total retards.
Just 90% of them were.
