I was wondering how could I build Simba on mac / be pointed to any help…..
I'd rather that than using some windows crossover program…
And I wouldn't mind it being the lape version at all if that's what's best.. :)

Simba on Mac is further away than Simba on Linux, I am afraid. I'm not sure what you'd want to do with it? Run SRL scripts?

pretty much… so I'll just use a crossover program I guess….
Anything I could do to get it to come quicker to the mac? :p

Could anyone suggest a good Windows crossover program for a MAC? My friend has one and wants to use Simba.

It'd be useful if you would point any questions towards me or other Simba developers, that will speed up the progress a lot, I can imagine.
Ive been running Simba on a mac for several weeks. Its not completely stable but it works with wine.

I know you don't like the idea of crossover programs, but here's my input. I've tried it both with wine and a VM and to be honest, wine was much less of a pain in the ass. As long as you remember to get java under wine, then you'll be good. I'd recommend getting wine from macports and throwing on a cron job that checks macports for updates. Also, make sure to put aside a good 45 min to an hour to install wine as macports tends to take its sweet time the first time you open it but works pretty much at the speed of a debian-esque package manager after that.
Happy mac-ing! ;)

I personally use VMware, that I got for free, and also because I had Windows XP laying around my house, but I think jakeyboy is going to be nice and make a tutorial for mac n00bs, like me.

also wine is way faster than any vm is going to be.
