Upcoming Rs Updates:

kingarabian

2011-11-01 13:31:12

-Removal of Uptext
-No need to right click an Npc or an Object to examine

Instead, all you need to do is hover over an Npc or an Object and a small box containing the examine info and name will appear.

-Minimap changes
-New look for most interfaces.

Were gonna have more work to do…:garfield:

Not funny.

  • Brand-new info boxes, making examine messages and left click actions appear over the item your clicking on rather than hidden as a text message. No more checking the top left corner for NPC names - they'll appear next to your mouse cursor if this option is enabled.
  • New “stone buttons” (the ones you use to open your inventory, quest journal etc) with new icons (don’t worry; they’re based on the old ones).
  • A rework of the borders of the minimap, including a new “metallic” look.
  • New “trims” to the side panel interfaces themselves (like the inventory).

We'll prolly need another OCR :(

Appear next to mouse = search for a bitmap of the cursor -> search for the text within a specific box.

More work but definitely doable. Might get some new members and Dev's from all the updates.

Well, it says "if this option is enabled" so I assume it won't be mandatory yet.

Well just think, if we update and adjust to this coming interface update we'll be set for another X amount of years.

Yea, getting updated with that is a good idea.

if these boxes standout a LOT it might actually improve our botting

IF THIS OPTION IS ENABLED.
We should be fine?

lmfao, why the heck would u search for a bitmap of the cursor?
get the mouse position. you can do that in simba right? :P

he means the in game mouse icons that have animations like when you eat or open doors so we can identify at least partialy what the mouse is about to do..

for one this will be way too slow and 2 i dont think it will work. mouse bitmaps cannot be searched as the mouse runs on some special subkernel kind of thing.

something i learned early on when i joined the srl community :spot: yay now this totally proves i learned something :garfield:

to be honest im not too worried about this update. this seems like it would get extremely annoying in a very short time, and jagex will have this optional to be disabled. this is clearly aimed at color bots but i know well find ways around it…particularly the only thing it will force us to do is basically right click 90% of the time….not toooo suspicious…

That's what I thought. Eventually having support for it would be nice though.

Yeah we will just have to change gametabs (unless we use mosuebox/coordinates for them).
MM should be fine I assume, they are just changing the look for the borders.
If anything just the uptext stuff MIGHT need to be fixed, and all we will need is a new font, and just do getmouspos, make a box around the mouse, and search for text.

We can do it, we are SRL!

I don't see what the big hassle is all about, really.. SRL has overcome greater updates in the past

No big deal, we are just discussing what will need to be done.
We've dealt with tons of stuff like this before, easy peasy.

We use a 'base' coord, some math, and a simple color check. Nothing really 'over the top'. :)

Dunno really why, players suggest those updates?

Could we possibly add this mouse cursor detection to SRL? Or at least something like that…it seems better than using uptext.

Although it seems like a pretty neat idea, it's still not going to be accurate in telling objects of the same type apart. (Ex: Normal tree vs. Oak)

Seems like everything is going to new a big overhaul.

MSI is going to have be re-written if its a big update :/

Should be fine. It was specifically written to make it very simple to update.

But it will be extremely accurate in finding if you are moused over an NPC to fight it, or over a tree to cut it, or some other action. It will probably be faster than the new hover box….and I like fast+accurate ;)

We'll have to add the box checking, why not add mouse checking as a failsafe as well?

While the uptext update is supposed to be an option, we can't just say "oh we'll keep the option off then and everything is fine" for forever, like we have with safemode gfx/etc. The future of botting, especially the kind of color-decision based stuff we do, is going to be in being modular enough to continue to appear human.

I mean if we ever got to the point where SRL functioned in resizeable mode, noone using simba would ever get banned.

I think it's better we start playing WOW during some time, and make scripts for it. Runescape is becoming a WOW, so that would saves us some time, till these update are made.

My chicken killer is now working without an uptext check. It correctly identifies a chicken extremely quickly. I just use a color check:
Function ColorThere(cx1, cy1, cx2, cy2, Color, Tol, Amt: Integer): Boolean;
begin
Result := (CountcolorTolerance(Color, cx1-20, cy1-20, cx2+20, cy2+20, Tol) > Amt);
end;

What's x and y? Is it the point that's found by you TPA function? If so, can't you just do a TPA length check on the box around the point? No need for a separate procedure/color function call.

How would you check the length around the point though?
E: Also, it's used as back up. For example, instead of calling an IsUptext, I call ColorThere before clicking.

Not a bad idea at all. :) I think it's good for an extra check. If your TPA boxes are the same size as the area your looking in in ColorThere, then it's redundant (see below).

For checking the length, I'm just assuming you did that in the TPA procedure. Like:

if (length(TPA[i]) < Amt) then
continue;
To skip areas with only one or two of the colour.

I've got ATPA's at 5 by 5 for brown chickens. It searches for at least 20 pixels of color, and does so before clicking because it only scans the screen once every 30 seconds or so and chickens move quite often. You also have to realize that there is a lot of activity at chickens. I have a similar system going on though, so I guess I know I'm doing something right. :)
