The closure of this thread is another fine example of what I am about to say, concerning OSI.
I didn't start the thread as an argument, but I knew it would escalate. This is nothing personal, on contrary, it's simple rules. If you want to seriously compete, we -meaning everyone seriously involved in this- will have to follow simple rules:
Don't advertise yourself.
1. This is business and common sense in one. And the most obvious and most childish one for everyone to see. Go to me!. Don't do that. It is silly, offensive and provocative. In reverse: would you like to see me, or any other high rank member of this community, blunty advertise on your board, with the prime purpose of attracting potential victims? I think not. And of course there is rivalry here at stake! But rivalry can be utilised in a positive manner, as a motivation to push your limits, improve your skills, not unlike like sport does. And not in the childish way as it is employed here*.
Treat each other with respect.
2. This one is especially adressed to those that find it hard to coexist. We, the inventors, creators and performers, should always be political in our approach towards community members we dont like. It is against general interest to roast each other in public, or even in private. It is bad for the community, it is bad for the admosphere and yes, it is bad for you!
As you grow older you will discover that this is centre of coexistence: to be polite, hold your distance, and never say what you really feel. This is crucial in any group or business for smooth progression. You learn that at school (with lots of troubles). From your responses I can judge your mental age. I know this is hard for those that feel challenged by this because you live inside your reality, your own truth. Maybe it is because you are too involved at the moment, or find assurance in biting off out your life's frustrations here, or maybe you are just socially inexperienced, whatever it is: Again simple rules. 1. Don't argue with those that you dont like. If you can't do that, keep it factual. 2. Never let you personal frustration -from whatever source it came in your life- blend into the text here. 3. Don't lie. 4. Know when to stop.
Do your magic in your own laboratory.
Do your own work in your own community. Again: nothing personal, simply business. Can't even begin to explain why you shouldn't. I hope this is obvious for all. And, o, please credit where fit!
Simple rules. Follow them.
