When I log into SRL, always see new posts from spam bots. It's kinda annoying. We all think it's annoying. So, I was thinking…when we see a thread from a spam bot, generally it's done from a recent created account, with only 1 post. What they do is simply write a lot of information. A LOT!
So…wouldn't be possible to auto-ban those 'new welcomers' that write more than 100 words, that has Japanese, Chinese characters?

Yeah it's a good thought. On the rare occasion that someone posts a welcome thread containing alot of background info (possible 100 words, but I doubt it), it's probably not likely to happen. Although, all the spam bots seem to have the same goal: advertise websites. In my own opinion, I'd say look for those links in new users with generally 'new' posts.
Or maybe make even a simple introduction post before gaining access to the rest of the forums.

I think we're pretty quick at removing them, though. But a filter would be nice. Perhaps having any post with links be approved if < 5 posts on the user? I think that's able to be done.
Its not exactly a stretch either. People can still post with links, then staff can just yes or no, then delete/ban them if they are obviously a spam bot.
Just a thought.

No, the current system is the best. With 5 posts until links, they spam 5 posts, then spam their links.

I know you guys are fast, removing those posts. But still, a filter would be great and would save time :)
But if you say the current system is the best, then I will agree with you.
What does this have to do with Simba?
