Long time no see SRL!

Last time I visited these forums were years ago (literally). When I was here, I was amazed by how easy it was to make money in Runescape just by having a bot play the game for you. My attitude on botting hasn't changed since then, but my approach has. Recently I've begun learning simple programming. More specifically Python. I was wondering, how similar is programming in Python to programming in Pascal, more so, Simba? I'd like to take a stab at creating Runescape bots for the sake of experience. Anything I should know before diving in?

They both are similar in terms of syntax(the loops/try..except statements) but i would say its not that hard if you already grasped the concept of programming(from python). The best way to learn though is create you're own scripts.

Also keep in mind if you know Python, you can do some scripting in Python. The support is quite minimal (and I believe only supports Linux for now, not sure), but maybe you'll be able to help that move along. :)

But to answer the question, it's relatively similar. Keep in mind that what Simba scripts are is actually PascalScript, not Pascal. It's quite similar, but is also quite different (mainly in support for certain aspects of programming, such as pointers). It's quite simple to get into, really.
