GE Question.

After the GE prices 'refresh' for the day do I need to re-set my GE buying/selling offres?

Ex: I'm selling X item at Y gp.
Day goes by.
There is now a new mid price for X item.

Do I need to cancel and resell my item for it to sell?

I'm asking because I had an item selling slowly but surely last night for a few hours, but now today it has not sold at all, so do I need to cancel and resell?

If the mid price has gone down from what your selling, depending if it looks like it will keep dropping then I'd lower the price incase it plunges really low and you lose money. Sometimes items jump back up and sometimes they keep dropping.

It's not ever 24 hours anymore by the way. It changes much more often now, I believe (or I just don't sleep enough and was just stupid, which is possible).

I'm not sure if it has changed, but on average it updates once every 24 hours.

Some items update quicker, some slower. It all depends on how many transactions are happening.

To answer OP, if your offer stops progressing it's usually best to adjust the price. But that doesn't mean you have to, you could very well have kept your items in. However chances of them being sold when everyone else is undercutting you is slim.

I know. I, too, was quite confused when the mid price changed after a few hours of trading.. I think it's because of the new system that was put in place. Really not sure.

Prices are live nowadays, the GE graph only tells the general direction of the price (up or down).

Live meaning that the price the item is trading for changes all the time. So even if the mid price for item X is 300, the real price the item trades for can be 360gp (or 240gp for that matter).

Easy way to find out the price the item is trading for is to buy 1 item of the item X from the GE and see how much you paid for it. Then sell for that price.

Sorry there's a lot more stuff to explain with that but I'm in a hurry so can't get any more specific.

The prices update after a certain amount of trading. I know some incidents when it didn't update for almost two days, and times it updated twice a day during holidays.

The guide price (graph) updates after a certain amounts of trades, yes.

But prices the item actually trades for are live. You shouldn't look at the graph anymore when deciding what price to sell/buy items for, as the guide price is often outdated.

Writing on my phone so there might be some typos.

I think what Yohojo meant is, does he have to put his offer back in ge for it to be able to sell ever, no matter the price. The answer to that is no, you can leave the offer in for several days, but I think that there is a point where it does expire and your money/item is put in the box thingy for you to get back.
