SSRL mod rights

Is it possible to give SSRL mod rights users posts who are banned? Or perhaps if the thread starter is banned?

Would be really nice to be able to close threads made by spam bots rather then see 5 people post saying it's a spam bot.

I was just thinking this about 10 minutes ago.

Perhaps also permission to edit the posts of banned users to remove links. >.>

But then I think its crossing the line of "Staff" and SSRL. :/

I certainly agree with keeping staff and SSRL separate; however, SSRL can ban any user (?) with as little as one infraction. This was clearly added so that we (SSRL) can actively participate in the effort to keep spam bots out of this forum. It onyly makes sense that once a user is banned we can clean up/eliminate the Spammed post/thread as well.

Mods still have more rights as they can move threads/posts and whatever else they can do.

I certainly don't want to step on anyone's toes though so if this making SSRL too similar to staff then just say so and disregard this thread.

I already asked if it was possible to have posts automatically deleted if that user was banned for being a spam-bot, but apparently it's not possible. Also, I think we should start giving infractions for anyone who posts on what is clearly a spam thread. Kind of annoying that some people post to begin with.

Am I the only one who didn't understand that?

When we get the homepage / quiz thing in place it will be better.

He want's to know if SSRL can get mod rights over posts of people banned for being a spam bot. (or thread? if the post is the first in the thread)

I meant "is it possible to give SSRL mod rights on users posts who are banned?" so we can close/delete.

I've often felt that users posting on spam threads should be warned at least, just rarely did I guess. If we're going to start doing it to anyone who post's in spam threads, there should probably be some sort of public announcement for it. Everyone should know better, but clearly some don't..

I'm not sure if that's possible. I'll have to look into it.

Yeah, an announcement could be made I suppose; although, I don't really think it should be necessary. Like you said, they should already know.

I've warned a few people and infracted a few about posting on spambot threads lately. So most should know already.
