Recent change in REF Fighting?

One script that I really want to use, seems semi-buggy. It constantly will keep trying to attack different NPC's instead of fighting one and waiting till it's killed it. I'm looking at the fight procedure of the script and it has this.

 Procedure Fight;
Var
inFightWith : TNPC;
npcs : TNPCArray;
index : Integer;
begin
if(R_AreWeInteracting(InFightWith, False) and (getSystemTime - lastFightTime < 1000 * 60)) then
begin
lastInteractedTile := inFightWith.tile;
humanWait(1000);
exit;
end;

Is this up to par with the latest Reflection? or has it changed? This is Flight's Catacomber script by the way, he said it was working fine before, so maybe an update was made to REF?

people have complained about the fighting in strongholder as well when nothing has been changed, and i believe the procedure is similar in structure

That's weird, something has to be different though, if it was working before, then why would it go out of whack if absolutely nothing was changed? I tried to look through Ref. on Github but I'm not very good at this, so I couldn't see if I needed to change something.

We haven't changed anything in those segments that I know about.

Well I figure I'd atleast post this in the bug section, since Ref. is your cup of tea. Quite a few people have been posting in the scripts threads about this, I dont personally know about the Strong-holder script, but I know the Catacomber script is having this problem. If you guys want to test that script out I have a char that you could use, being that its right at lumby, though mormonman may already have one there.

Come to think of it, I do recall pyroryan saying something about the interacting hook, and to have changed something (which is probably why it's running around hitting npc's constantly). Next time he gets on I'll talk to him about it.

I'm a bit confused now. To see it for myself I ran this script last night on my second account and it worked just fine for me. Attacked 1 NPC and waited until it was dead before re-targeting.

Give me more info on how you were fighting. What level are you, what monster are you fighting, are you fast to kill that monster or does it take some time?

flight im lvl 3 and it attacks, then waits a few seconds, then clicks a different, then waits then clicks constantly

Are you using reflection from the extension updater built into Simba or are you using the git version?

simba

I'm using the latest from Git (dev-b3d6115). and Flight, all my chars are pretty much lvl 3-7 and I had them set up in the 1st room. and it was doing what Bolshak was saying pretty much attacking one and like 2 seconds later attack another one, and keep doing that every few seconds.

Use the extension built into simba please for stable releases :) But yes I will look into this when pyro gets back on.

Ok, I think I only got the one from Git because I was having this problem, so i thought the newest version would help, and I'm just used to doing it when there was only beta. but yes I'll switch to the Simba version.

Do either of you two have a character I may use (the lower the combat level, the better) for the lower level rooms? I'm wondering if maybe the death animations are mix-matched for some monsters. Because I'm in room #6 and it's working flawlessly for me.

I PM-ed you an account, It's not showing up in my sent messages folder though, hopefully you got it.

Yes I got them, I'll test it right now.

On another note, you have to enable a setting to save sent items. Go to your User CP > Edit Options (On the left-hand side) > then scroll down the the 'Private Messaging' section > find the option "Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default", enable that and hit the 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the screen.

I did, thanks for the heads up.

"R_GetInteractingNPC" itself is broken, I dunno why, but I just tested it and it's always returning a NULL_NPC, even while fighting.

Hopefully it can get fixed up soon, I'm hoping to test the full potential of your script. Thanks for clarifying.

Ry0240, I'm gonna borrow that account again quick if you don't mind. I think I can make my own temporary solution for this problem.

I don't, it's a lvl 4, not needed/ important at all, until this is all fixed and I can start training their combat up.
