Let me clarify: objects have an id, npcs have an id, items have an id. Is there ever an overlap between the categories?

For example: can there be a object with an id of 23, and a npc with an id of 23, and an item with an id of 23, or is the id truly unique?

Trying to decide how to handle some lookups in a script and this affects how I approach it.

Yes they can share IDs in between different categories, but obviously will never overlap in their own category.
