Mods like to talk to me when I bot yews, it'd be great to logoff and switch worlds when they do. An all-reflection method, if that's possible?

I don't know what that hook would be to distinguish a mod from a normal player. Color might be the only way to go, and at the moment, the current way for detecting a mod is broken last time I checked.

Check all players, if "mod " appears in the name, run.

I don't think he was talking about staff. The chances of that happening is slim to none.

Pmods?
I say it should search for the crown with color.

Just search for the bitmap of the silver/gold crown?

Turn public chat off and when any message appears, switch worlds?

I'm sure there is a hook for it, just because you don't know what it is doesnt mean it exists. We'll just have to look into it a bit (and by we I mean, get to work pyro-slave.).

The only way that would possibly work is if the mod talks. chances are that its easy to spot a bot and the mod will just ban u or somethin.

Well the mods like to talk to me first. Like "$NAME, hello?", and you can guess what happens if I don't reply.

Um, why does it have to be an all reflection method? FindMod in SRL works perfectly fine, and it logs your player out when found. It worked for me a few times a couple weeks ago (could explain why that account is now banned :p). I don't think it switches worlds, though, but that's an easy addition.

One thought is that they may be smarter than FindMod thinks. What if they trade and follow and request assistance and stuff? There's no way that color can tell that that player is a mod until they talk. They can get enough evidence that a player is a bot without talking, in my mind. If there was some way to see if a player is a mod in reflection before they interact with you in any way, that could be useful.

Ahh, so something like getting all the player's loaded, if one's a mod, switch worlds. Yes, I can see how that would be useful. :p

Do you know of any fields in the player class that could be linked to modship? Yeah, i see what you mean by the html tags in the chat. Good idea for finding a mod after they had talked. Would be better if there was something to find them before they talk ;P

That's probably impossible. No mod would ban you before attempting to talk to you, so html tags should work.

Better to avoid the situation in it's entirety in my opinion.

It can also be a little suspicious…A mod talking to us and we log out? Coincidence? :/

I doubt it. Do you seen how easy it is to spot a bot, and jmods proly have access to other things about your player as well(from their console), but i don't think its much of a problem in free worlds.

If they ban you, you could just appeal with a stupid excuse like "My mom said I can't talk to JMods" or something. They don't read them anyway.

I don't think it's possible to find a player mod before they say something.
But I wouldn't know, I imagine the chat server deals with that.

You'd be surprised what they store in the client.

Well you could make a mod database but that'd be silly I think.
