SRL Archive - RS has been updated.

Those venturing to Edgeville or touting their wares at the Grand Exchange will notice that there have been a number of graphical updates, as well as a new layout for the Grand Exchange.

The Grand Exchange

The Grand Exchange has been overhauled to make it easier to use and better-looking. The main hub in the centre has now been replaced by four hubs, each with their own and bankers and exchange clerks, spread out in each corner of the central, paved area. As well as easing the crowding at the Exchange itself, this frees up space for a central garden, where you can tout your wares, haggle with other players or just hang out and chat. There’s also a new entrance on the east side, leading in from the Varrock palace grounds, making access to the Grand Exchange even easier.

Edgeville

The frontier town of Edgeville has also been given a visual makeover. Improvements to the roofs, trees and ruins, as well as new lighting effects and visual props, have given the town a great new look and feel:

These improvements, along with the Draynor Village overhaul released earlier in the year, are just a first taste of the improvements we have planned for RuneScape’s graphics. We are aiming to enhance the medieval fantasy theme of the game, and upcoming engine fixes will allow us to fulfil the graphical potential of RuneScape.

Audio Improvements

We’ve also improved the majority of the Magic spell sound effects, including those for elemental spells, spells from the normal spell book and the Ancient Magick spells. There are also a new set of Agility course sound effects, making use of sampled sounds. Along with this come a range of ambient sounds and effects for many areas throughout the game, including the Morytania swamp, Misthalin and Asgarnia, making for a more immersive game experience.

These are just the beginning, so look out for more audio and visual improvements in the near future!

Sweet thing about this update is there is a fountain smack dab in the middle of the GE, great for a vial/bucket/whatever filling script.

I really dont see what was wrong with the old GE.
they say itll be easier for ppl to sell their stuff coz they can stand in the middle and shout about it?!

Im sure ill get used to it but for now im just annoyed coz its broken GE Arsonist :(

I've been hearing people that had stuff selling in the ge before the update lost it. Some guy in my world is claiming he lost a santa hat

I've seen a lot of ppl claiming theyve lost rares through this update but its very hard to believe that 20 - 30 on 1 world were all selling crackers

They patched the wall glitch where ppl can hide in the walls.. but once ur in there, u don't have to come out:

Told him I'm not leaving till Mod Slayer either bans me or Until they fix all bots lmaoo… Scooty said he's getting mod chrisso and mod slayer to kick us all out of the wall.. but everyone is saying that they're not leaving till the bot problem is fixed..

Bug abuse, even though you're not really gaining anything from it.

Technically they can ban you just because they want to, it's their game.

Wow the trees in ge is soo damn realish.

Actually they can't ban me… I've done it for no financial gain.. Mod Slayer just kicked me out of the glitch LOL.. Said they won't ban because too many ppl were doing it and I gain nothing from doing it except showing off..

Well the GE one is patched but hte one at edgeville is still working.. u can get ppl stuck int here.. I saw a ton of ppl there getting stuck.

As for the update… I hate the new ge.. Why? Because its so hard to click the damn bankers and exchangers.. I have to rotate the screen because of that stupid roof over them..
I like the furnace update though in edge.. all the scripts still work for it and ur now 2-3 blocks closer to the bank + its so large that scripts never misclick it anymore so thats a Plus for me.

I go both ways with the trees, yeah they're big and kind of in the way, but they're also nice looking.

Meh I kind of like the new update.. Makes it so that there aren't like 1000 people on the select list along with the banker.

Only just looked at the update. Quite a big 1, need to update my script for wcing by the looks of things.
