Good Mouse Pads.

Going to buy a mouse pad later. I don't need anything TOO fancy OR pricy (but if something is pricy BUT for a reason due to special features go ahead and bring it up). Mine's generic and old and has a rip in it now. Preferably one 'good for gaming'. I don't know much about the varieties and stuff which I'm sure there isn't much I guess they are just big and made with good material.

Post away!

propus 380 mousepad, for sure

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826988006

thing is such a beast

Mionix Propus 380 is the physical answer to performance, design and innovation. The new developed surface is treated with a special silver-metallic plastic coating. According to test results, this special coating offers optimal tracking conditions and improves the overall performance of the mouse movements. A thin base made of PVC-plastic has been implemented to give the stability from a hard mousepad without compromising the flexibility from a soft mousepad. The backside is made of natural rubber to ensure a steady grip.

yea the surface is like water proof it's really slick and great for all the mice I've used on it

I have this one:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Razer+-+Kabuto+Mobile+Gaming+Mouse+Pad/1183787.p?id=1218231417690&skuId=1183787&st=mouse%20pad&cp=1&lp=5
It's nice, feels great. Very silky feel but has the perfect balance of resistance and smoothness. Mouse glides like an angel.

yea reading about that and seeing what the base is made out of, I think our mouse pads are identical with different names

I don't know where I got mine, but tbh in my experience of mouse pads they don't really make a difference to me :p

when mice are 5400 DPI it's funny to see how huge of a difference between the clothish and the plastic slick surface there is

when I switched over from my padded one my mouse jumped like double the sensitivity it was pretty fun getting used to

Off topic:
3600DPI Vs 5700DPI will the difference be noticeable/matter?
Like honestly would anyone use over 3600DPI?

with my 3 monitors there's a huge difference in speed, I'd assume it would be a lot with 1 too..

you don't really need over 3600DPI I honestly can't see how that would improve performance that much

Probably not, the Intellimouse 3 is tried and true and it only has a DPI of 800? maybe less but it's definitely <1000.

What's important is is that your mouse isn't malfunctioning. Lots of old school players for all competitive games swear by the intellimouse and it doesn't boast high DPI.

I don't think there's a mouse that is as old as the intellimouse and still backed by a lot of competitive gamers. I didn't intend this to come off as it did, just wanted to point out that DPI doesn't really matter at all, there are more important stuff to worry about for a mouse.

Yeah, or you know you could just change the sensitivity.

I still don't understand why someone would pay $20 for a mouse pad.. I just have a random little fabric one with a shitty $5 gateway mouse and I do just fine in games.. I mean I'm not the best, but it's not because of mouse/pad limitations.. I just kinda suck. :p

Protip: wired mouse + anything besides a desk (just because it can scratch, really..) (I use a pillow when I'm in bed) == just as good as any $100 mouse you can buy with a $20+ mouse pad.

I have a cheap mouse pad from Wal-Mart, it has a wrist support. It is a great mouse pad, for me anyways. I feel a mouse pad is personal opinion.

Well you're not going to see any improvement from using a mousepad that's maybe $10 more but a lot of the price premium is because you're buying a physically larger product.

Also mousepads help protect the feet of your mouse

I can do across 3 screens with 1/4th of an inch movement on the mouse, $5-10 mouse pads get worn out really fast for me (less than a year) this one will probably last 10
