MOZZILLA FIREFOX users only, sorry :(


Well, I was getting annoyed by the amount of lagg of the Runescape adds, so I set out to find a way to block them (which is very easy). So, this is what you do.

1. Go to google, type in adblock mozilla
2. Click on the first or second, and get the installation of the mozilla ad blocker.
3. After installing, close your mozilla windows, then re-open.
4. Go to the runescape website, and load a non-member world.
5. Go up to Tools, hit, Adblock, then Preferences.
6. Add these to the list…

http://advert.runescape.com/lang/en/aff/runescape/banner.ws?size=120*
http://advert.runescape.com/lang/en/aff/runescape/banner.ws?size=729*

7. And BAM! Your advertisments should be gone :) I think it's good, I only just tested lol.

Or you could just add:

http://advert.runescape.com/*

The * is a wildcard so blocks everything from advert.runescape.com you only block 3 ads. ;)

For clarification, it's called Adblock Plus.

Also, you should get Adblock Plus Filterset G updater…It'll automatically add many ad servers to your list…I haven't seen an ad in months now…

If you have Zonealarm Pro it should block adverts automatically.

You know how it says it is against the rules to block ads?

It is way against the rules, but I don't think they can detect, it just doesn't seem possible, but with the kids nowadays…

They might be able to see if the ad url was loaded when the client url was. If the ad url was blocked, then it wouldnt be loaded, or got, or whatever, so if they detect the client coming from your ip and the ad not, then they could see that they are blocked.

And they would do what? I don't think they ban for blocking the ads.

That's impossible, would break privacy laws.

There is no way they can detect it, unless adblocker changes the HTML DOM (highly doubt it)

It probably just stops firefox from rendering. Meaning there's a very very very extremely low chance they can detect it. Without breaking laws of course.

and if they did release runescap wouldnt care only google would it not like they gonna be sewing them any time soon lol and the make like 12mill us dollors a month rs lol

Don't know how they detect it but http://www.sythe.org/ seems to be able to check if you block ads.(If you run Firefox with AdBlock Plus you'll get You have adblock enabled. Please disable adblock on sythe.org) Could be that they can check if you have adblock plus in the web browser.

in IE u can just go tools>internet options…>securirty>restricted sites the advert.runescape.com

Or you can download FireBug V-1.2.1 add-on or other version (for Firefox),
simple to use can delete any item at any web page, also you can remove MenuBox at Runescape, so with F11 (full screen) browser you can enjoy Full Screen RS Without MEMBER.. :)

yes… they ban for blocking ads with third party software… i don't know what rule it is(DON"T USE THIS WAY IT WILL GET YOU BANNED!)

but isn't cheat or something… just you less useing network, dont need to see that adverts, flash…. and do not change anything in game.. so what the reasont to get ban… :duh: i do not understand…:confused:
