I have dozens of phishing emails from "Jagex" in my spam folder. You just have to know that Jagex never emails you… ever.

I've actually heard that they do email you if they have made changes to your account. But thats all.
They dont actually ask you to log in to anything or w/e.
Its just a "courtesy" email saying that they banned you.
Im not 100% sure if thats true or not.

Yeah I get 1 of those every other day. I almost fell for it :), but then was smart enuf to check which accounts of mine were banned and it was only my pure. And Gold4rs has it on there front page that phishing emails are going out wildly. Thanks for pointing this out people might get use of it :)

I always checked their link to your account from the email, and it's usually something like secure.runescaep.com Or something like that, most people would miss it.

The only legit email I have ever received from Jagex was during an account recovery, and they didn't have a single link to any site within the email (even their own); there was just a code to copy/paste into the recovery form on the RS website to check its status.
As a rule, never open links in emails. Live by that, and you'll never get phished.

Also, if the email does not address you specifically, then most of the time, its gonna be spam/phishing.

Yeah, how do we really get it? The only 2 emails Gold4rs knows are the ones I get phising emails on. And they have on their front page, be ware phishing emails are going out so be careful. Seems suspicious… But again, anything happens on the internet these days.

solution, block everything from noreply@jagex.com, then look in the junk whenever you expect something from them

What about when they ask you to confirm that you changed your email?

they are smart. they don't send you a link to confirm it
they send you a code to enter into the site.

They do, however, send you a link if you forget your password. I can confirm this as I had to use it last night.
