Reflection Paths Needed!

NCDS

2011-06-23 11:12:23

To incorporate our "Death Walking" feature as mentioned in this thread.

I'm looking for Reflection paths from lumbridge castle (where you spawn) that end at each banking spot used in our scripts. Obviously some locations such as Karamja will involve a little bit more but I can handle that. These paths will be converted into SPS points as well to maintain color and reflection support in case anyone was wondering.

So now everyone has a nice easy chance to contribute. :)

Paths still needed:
  • None!

can i ask how i can find the points? itd be nice to finally contribute something more than opinions

Pathmaker, this is included in the reflection git.

NCDS give me a couple of days and I'll be finished with my real path maker (maps and all). Then you can make the paths yourself lazy bum =]

What do you mean "real" pathmaker? What's wrong with current one?

@NCDS, may not be a bad idea to include a list of all the paths needed (and which ones are done). :)

its a java one where u click to make tiles etc. The past ones were not really 100% accurate. I'm sure theres one floating around the forums (like sumilions) but i hear it has a few problems. And the one currently in reflection is one where you have to walk and click record for each tile.

I've always used Sumilion's and it works fine. I don't recall there ever being problems with it. Takes 20 seconds to make a working path. But nevertheless, it's up to you. :p

Didn't mean to. :p And I just meant, if there's something that could or should have higher priority, then take care of that first since there's already a path maker that works. By all means, if he wants to make a better one, he can go right ahead. :)

This might sound stupid, but where/how do I get the Pathmaker?

Once I know what paths need doing (and how to get the Pathmaker), I'll get on the job.

Since NCDS hasn't said otherwise, assume that all the paths need to be done. From Lumbridge courtyard to all MSI supported banks. And yeah for the pathmaker, you can clone the git repo and it's found in tools/. Be sure to set the offsets that are in the README file.

How did you pick the ones for alkharid bank? did you use the path from the gate near the goblins or the newer one from south of the cemetery?

Awesome! Thanks Rich. :)

Did you happen to have a char walk those paths at all? I know it's probably not necessary but I'll run a test before I use them if you haven't yet.

We still need a path to port sarim deposit box, then I need to decide how I'm going to do Karamja and catherby.

Also, once it's been decided how this whole system is going to be laid out and used, I could have a go at Karamja.

Do it like we do script paths - use a 2D array with an obstacle. :)

Yeah you can cross the Dung docks in Lumbridge Swamp. You end up coming right behind the bank. AK Bank is honestly 5-6 points from Lumbridge courtyard now.

I take it that the AK path will need an obstacle as well then? I'll look into how to script paths work and see if I can do the three that need it.

That's probably how it will go, I'm just putting everything together. Would help a lot if I had some solid time to sit down and do it rather than 15 minutes here and there. Mondays are generally my "good" days :p.

Perhaps certain concepts could be. The actual function won't work though as it will need to be able to use SPS as well, and also work with any MSI script. Tonight I should have things pretty well finished up.

I've already looked at it, and some ideas from it can be used. I really like how it detects if you're already in the path. MSI's version should do the same. But like NCDS said, the actual function itself won't be used since there's no SPS support/MSI is record based so the paths will be stored elsewhere.

If you wanted though, you could make it into an MSI Extra for more testing.
