Two days ago I started investing in Construction. Never tried this skill before, in fact the only Runescape I know is setting up my Players for their rounds… :) So.. new here.
Now I have this house, and it seems like it might be just the perfect spot for my own little schemes.
This must have been discussed before here somewhere in the past, but too lazy.
So, Anyone ever tried it? Or is skilling capped in your house?

What kind of skills could you even train in a house other than constructon? :o
I do Prayer Guilded altar script. The thing about that is any house script pretty much have to be self made. Nobody really has the same house structure.

I don't know much about members and building, but maybe teletabs might be able to generate some profit?

Random events can still happen in your house but there are no other players around, so that's an advantage. Aside from prayer, you can also train cooking (kitchen stove) and magic (alching) in a house. I'm sure there's more you can do as well.

Also, AFAIK most teletabs are profitable to make.

yes, you can train:
magic with lecterns,
cooking by making free cakes,
prayer with a lit altar,
crafting making toy horseys/clockwork cats/ etc.,
smithing by building mith/addy/rune armor stands, (low xp)
runecrafting from making rune cases, (low xp)
moneymaking by using the sink filling vials/softening clay and banking with servant,
firelighting lighting fires in fireplaces,
farming from planting stuff in the gardens (ridiculously expensive though)
could also fletch/alch/make potions using a servant
That's what I can think of right now. Con is my favorite skill, can you tell?

Seems to me, you are my man :)
- Can you stay forever in your house? The game doesn't kick you out of your house after some time?
- By unlimited supply, they truly mean, unlimited, no?
- Can you auto together? Two skillers in the ring f.e.?
- Noone else can just look into your house, right? Not even a jmod?
- Can you stash goods, i.e. bank them? Or do you really need a servant?
- normal construction loop would be: servant brings raw material, you finish product, you trade finished product with servant back for raw material, right?
1. Can you stay forever in your house?
Yes
2. By unlimited supply, they truly mean, unlimited, no?
Don't understand what your referring too.
3. Can you auto together?
Yes most people level using house party worlds. So as to avoid having to light the Prayer Altar.
4. Noone else can just look into your house, right?
Anyone can enter your house when it's open. Only you can enter it when it's private.
5. Can you stash goods, i.e. bank them? Or do you really need a servant?
You really need a servant to bank from the house. There are places where the house portal is close to a bank. Such as Yanelle.
6. normal construction loop would be: servant brings raw material, you finish product, you trade finished product with servant back for raw material, right?
Mostly. Or using outside banks that are nearby. Servants require paying after a certain amount has been done.

- you can stay in your house almost forever. I think randoms put you back into your house if you solve them. I have ran tablet scripts for 6 hrs before, no interruptions. However, if you log, you log back in outside of the house portal, everytime. So breaks are difficult.
-you have an unlimited supply of cakes. Everything else takes items from your bank, however, everything but bones and ashes can be un-noted by a servant.
- I don't know if you get any combat xp from fighting another player, I know you don't get any from fighting POH dungeon monsters…
-dunno about the jmod thing, but you can turn your portal off (set private chat to off) and no one can enter, but not sure if jmods fall under that rule. But how would they know to check your house?
-only good stashing is in your costume room, so not really. Clostest bank w/o a servant is yanille, requires 50 construction.
-no, drop the raw material, flatpacks aren't worth anything unless you are using marble, beer, gold leaves etc. (expensive items)
you really train construction by building and tearing down stuff, not flatpacking, and mainly oak larders in your kitchen. They take 8 oak planks, the most oak planks till you can build oak dungeon doors. Also, a lot of ppl like to use sacred clay hammers, as it halves contruction costs. If I want to save money this is how I train:
1. wield golden hammer/or have sacred clay hammer in inv
2. inventory is saw, coins, and noted logs
3. pull bell, get demon to follow
first run
1. give logs to demon or butler, he un-notes them
2. stand by larder hotspot, remove larder,
3. demon comes back, have him send logs to sawmill (this is why you need coins)
4. build 1 larder
then in a loop
1.give demon logs
-while waiting for demon to return-
2.remove larder
3.build larder
-demon prolly back by now-
4. send him to sawmill
-while waiting for demon to return-
5.remove larder
6.build larder
-demon returns with planks-
7.remove larder
8.build larder
repeat loop
the key is building enough larders in the time it takes demon to un-note logs and send them to the sawmill. it's cheaper to do logs than buy planks right off the ge, and you have plenty of time to add that extra step. I trained with butlers, not demons, so it's a different timing. You would just have to experiment. Also, if your inventory is full, the servant will hold the extra items like a BoB. This is good and bad, because if you forget that your servant is holding planks, and send him to un-note logs, he will bank the planks, and you will have to retrieve them later which throws off my training rhythm.
Yeah, i hope that makes sense. :)

Remember that construction costs a LOT of money. I managed to get to 75 fairly fast but it did cost me around 20m of oak planks (didn't use servant, House tele with law/dust rune, grab saw/hammer, make larders, use duel ring to tele back to cw. Can do 3 larders and an oak workbench at a time = 26 planks).

Aye it is, that's why sc hammers are used a lot. But houses have so many overlooked uses.
-It's a 1 stop shop for teleportation: all the normal teles minus trollheim, ape-atoll and moblising. + unlimited glory teles. Free if you are in your house. Very useful if you are on ancients/lunar as you only need to carry house tablets with you.
-great place to practice max hits in dungeons, and fight your friends in a safe place.
-hire a cook, invite a bunch of ppl over, and make money banking the pineapple pizzas she puts in the dining room.
-repair barrows armor for half the cost.
-party it up, have friends drool over your house.
-house portals are close to a lot of nice things: mines, banks, hardwood tree groves, Relekkas, druids etc.
-great place to house your pets (I have 11 diff color rune gaurds in mine) recharge prayer, summoning, health.
-construction can be a money-maker if you make the right things, mostly diff types of beer barrels.

I made a cooking script making cakes in the larder.
as a human i got around 35-37k/hour (i did the maths after two loops) the script got about 35k an hour as well. With reflection it could be easier than i was making it. Due to using find object and the larder being the same colour as the standard house even to start the script i had to pay X amount to change my house to white walled.
Its simple and 100% free. But every time you log in/out for breaks, any time you get a random, you are left outside your house. with reflection it would be easy to work out where you are, find the portal and then move back to the right room in your house. But i struggled to do it with colour due to opening an insane amount of doors.
It also is not the best exp/hour.

It might have been that way a couple years ago, but now you can do almost everything in building mode that you can in reg mode… and it only takes left clicks.

Oh, K never knew that :D i made the script this year, i just thought when i was putting everything in that there was no option to use anything. I mean i put in a completely new kitchen without out anything but a larder and stove to make everything smoother.

really? holy crap, I am always alching there from now on, just need to make a reflect script for entering the portal.
someone should really test this to prove it, if ggzz and MasterBB are both right, you can run 6 hrs before a break (not that I would suggest it.)

just a warnign to u though.. Im 99 mage.. alched everything in my house 24/7 for approx. 3-4 days in building mode.. not banned yet after 1 year.
U need to put a random check when the player is outside the portal cuz what jagex introduced was this thing where if u get more than 400k xp in building mode, nothing will happen but if jagex logs you out and u end up outside the portal, a random MAY snatch u since ur not in building mode when outside the portal.
so alch for 24/7 but every 6 hrs u MIGHT have to do a random check since u wont may not be in the house.. though when I did it, I remember respawning back in the house in building mode with the butler stuck in the workshop :P so I never had to make a script to get in the portal nor check for randoms.. I just used a straight autoclicker than clicked every 1.7 seconds on the 16th slot lol..
P.S. I still do this to get my construction rocks (for the museum).. just sit at portal and autoclick :P

aye, most of the time when I log back in after doing 4 hrs+ of a script in my house I get a random outside the portal.

Na, couldn't be bothered to do sc.
The only guy I know to have 99 played a ton of SC for hammers. He literally calculated how much it would cost him and how many hammers he needed. As far as I know he hasn't done Con or SC again since. IIRC it cost him 80m or so. That was like a year ago or so.
