[HTML/CSS] MMO website template I coded

Someone designed this and released the PSD for free… So I coded it! I tried to use as little images as possible for fast loading times. Only the background pic is kinda huge but that's about it. The text (as you might see in Chrome/FF) has a special (CSS3) blur effect to 'soften' it. Looks neat imo.

Tell me what you think: http://thamob.nl/test/dekaron
Works best in Chrome/FF/Safari and is kinda glitchy at times in IE (fuck you IE).

This is for anyone to use and develop forward as long as you leave some credit.

Cheers!

It took 2 and a half minutes to load the background images. But it looks cool.

Instead of having the background on the wrapper, put it in body, and fade it out with black gradient from the sides. You can center it to the body easily. If I remember correctly, it was something like this:
background-attachment: fixed;
background-color: #000;
background-image: url(body.png);
background-position: 50% 0px;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-size: auto;

Can't remember why I put it on the wrapper, exactly. I might split the background up in different sections to decrease loading times but 2 and a half minutes… What is your internet?! It takes a few seconds to load for me here and that's on my dad's "bad" internet ;P

Why would that decrease the loading time?

Loading several small files simultaneously > loading 1 big file.
It wouldn't be faster per say, but more consistent (e.g. the nav & footer are finished loading at the same time instead of it loading in the big body.png vertically)

+/- 15 kBs left. All other internet is stolen by my dad who is downloading duke nukem. But it is pretty common in other parts of the world. Having a background image of more than 2 mB is slow for others and will eat you bandwidth.

It's looking messed up for me @ 1080p
Center the background image to fix it

Got home and saw it on my 1080p too. Fixing it atm. That's why I had it hooked to the wrapper -.-

Fixed it + added a inverse reflected black to transparent gradient to that shit! look at it fade!

Much better :)
I don't like how the text is all blurry though… makes it hard to read
