Is there any way to run Simba on ubuntu without WiNe ?
Also, when i run it in WiNe it doesn't let me save any scripts, it gives me:
Unable to create file "C:\blah"
Thanks

Check if the file permissions are okay to save files. Else I don't know whether there are any options. This might be worth checking out:

Don't use the thing from mopar's site unless you know how, really.
It should run fine in Wine. Always worked fine for me. What's your Wine version? (wine -v I think)

As long as Wine works just as it does on Mint as it does on Ubuntu, it should work fine.
