Whats up my fellow SCAR users.

I have been registered on this website for what? 4 years now?
Ever since I started using SCAR 2.07.

I came here to ask you guys, how much has scar/simba changed?
I have been using neXus, programming my own neXus scripts for the past 3 years ever since SCAR 2.07 w/ SRL lost compatibility with runescape.

Is SCAR way more advanced now?
If so, what are some of the new features?
And is it still completely based on finding bitmaps/colors? Or does SRL allow way easy/fast reading of runescape now?

Just fill me in on the news my fellow botters =)

SCAR has essentially been replaced with Simba. Simba is a more reliable programs with more features (although it does lack one or two that SCAR has), for example extensions which allow you to update SRL, Reflection and MSI after a couple of clicks.

SRL is stronger than ever with MSI and Reflection helping us to get along. MSI is Multiple Script Integration. It's a development headed up by Coh3n which the whole community has helped to create, covering much of the RS world. Reflection allows us to read from the client using IDs and tiles.

You can find out much more just by looking around. So welcome (back)!

FUCK YES! TILES!

Reflections are what I've been using in neXus bot programming,
I have alot of experience in the reflection and tiles sort of thing.

I'm extremely used to the structure of neXus botting now though :D
I feel that if I get experienced with both types of botting, I will be the GodFather of Reflection scripting.

Not really haha. I basically only program my own personal scripts:sasmokin:

For example, with nexus I've been running my Cannonball smelter every night for about 7 days and It's made me 9.6 mil :)
If I ever find someone who wants to buy any of my scripts Id gladly sell them.

But hell yeah, I'll go download simba and start learning right now.
Do I really need TortoiseSVN to get all the Reflection extensions and what not?

I don't think you do any more? Just download Simba, enable the extensions, and you're all set. Enable them by going into View, and then Extensions.

Alright cool.

Another thing that keeps me attached to nexus, is it's excellent at doing EVERY single random event.

I have not seen neXus fail at a random event to this day.

Does Simba have good random event support? Or is it still in development?

I'm not really sure as I haven't used Simba/SRL for a while, but I think that there are only a couple of randoms which can't be successfully solved.

Currently, Reflection 2 is being worked on and the Devs are lookign into rewriting the randoms. I can say that now some of the randoms are failed more often but about a month ago the only unsolved ones were prison pete and maybe just one more. So that's progress. Once there is a rewrite to reflection and randoms then for sure everything will be good.

Okay, awesome.

I'm soo not used to coding like this anymore :duh:
Brings back the old days :P

Reflection antirandoms aren't perfect, but they are pretty close. Most of the time they all work properly, except for Prison Pete. Welcome back though, hope you make something cool?

Welcome Back, I guess, 4 years? That's been a long time. Anyways, hope you can make a lot of bots and be a professional bot maker like some people here. Hope to be using yours, and is Nexus like Scar, or is it different? Sorry, I really don't understand making bots, I fail.

It includes many contributions from leading community members. It started out after much reading of how java events are managed. It began as UBI (Universal Bot Interface) which allowed any bot to send mouse clicks, mouse movements, keys to a applet. It was first ported to SRL (a include for SCAR) by GenoDemon. Next it was ported to a client made by Cruel who using windows api got the applet to be off screen and aquire a bitmap of it thru the windows api. It can trick clients into thinking they have "focus", ect. It can also block events. This allows multiple applets to run on the same OS and be tricked into thinking they have focus and they are recieving mouse events.
Advance methods that can return arrays of all matches, direct access to the pixel arrays, OCR, extendable, script thread, random thread, mouse controller, bot gui..Faster than scar, pixel explorer, etc.

iBot + NeXus = ibotnexus = nexus.

I don't think it is in my opinion, it has crashed so much more, gotten a lot of smart errors and sometimes even crashed when I go to close the program, leaving it open lol and I have to force close it with task manager.

Never had that happen with SCAR :/
