MSI can find trees, but fails to click them

I was using MSI's Rimmington Yew Cutter, hoping that it would be good to use seeing as all the bots were gone and it drew debug on the screen like usual but when it moved its mouse to the trees it kept on moving it around, where the leaves are but not actually clicking the tree.

Then it would stop and wait and do some anti-ban, so pretty much it just stood there and did nothing. Would be good if this got fixed, then I could start botting again :)

If anyone needs to borrow my account for testing, send me a PM

This is probably due to the new trees. The trees are huge and the there are a lot of leaves with the same color, but not everywhere has the "clicking uptext" if you know what I mean. I'm actually unsure as to how we could fix this. Does each tree type have a distinct trunk color? Maybe we can change the colors from the leaves to the trunk (I think that's where the tree is "clickable").

Or search for the trunk in an area close to where we found the leaves.

Yes that's possible as well. Trouble is it would have to be for select scripts since not all trees are updated yet.

use the black base. All the new trees have a black base in the lowest detail mode which is what everyone uses for botting anyway. The only problem is that all the trees have it so you could end up hovering over trees you dont want, but in my experience it works.

Trunks will work for certain trees like willows. Yews have a distinct trunk color but the leaves are really thick so if you're right by the tree you might not even see the trunk. Oaks and normal trees have close to identical trunk colors.

That's good to know, thanks.

Someone will have to mess with the colors to get it working properly. I don't have the time now.

Couldn't you be standing underneath the tree that the trunk couldn't be seen?

I really dislike the idea of searching for the bugged black area of the tree, which can at any point be fixed rendering the object searching not working properly..

It's definitely not ideal. We need to find exactly which part of the tree the uptext appears on and go from there.

It's able to detect the tree fine, but it just doesn't click it.

Yeah, because the uptext doesn't appear on the entire tree.

I'm adding this to the to-do list.

I'm going to see if we can determine the difference between the trees based off the trunk color now (not the black base), hopefully that will work otherwise it might end up pretty sloppy.

Are these trees implemented anywhere besides Rimmington currently?

I don't think so, but I remember reading an article on the RS website saying that they're doing the Draynor area next.

Just a heads up, I tried an rsbot script and it drew debug on the stem of the tree, and found it relativly fast, if this is a still a problem try it that way? The only reason I didnt use the script however is because it detected the tree base when there was no tree and kept clicking it

Yeah, I ran by the PS Willows earlier today and I checked out when the uptext appears, and it seems to almost always show up on the trunk. With a proper length check that should work (assuming the stump isn't that big). I'll be messing around with it later tonight.

This should now be fixed. It's not 100% perfect, but it works pretty well. It will occasionally hover the tree's stump and even the wall. I'm hoping to make this more accurate when I have more time, but for now, it works. :)
