Hey all! Tech logo request here!

I usually do all this on my own, and/or am on the other end of a request. I would really appreciate ideas you may have, and/or logos you design.

I am looking for a tech department logo. I get no prize or anything for doing this, but IF you guys want some incentive we can probably work something out. I might have a few rupees in a paypal account somewhere, or idunnoo… free hugs and <3 you for the help?…

Specs:

Official Name: Residential Technology Assistant
Common Name: RTA
Associated: Washington State Univeristy (WSU)

This is for the RTA program at WSU. Currently the logo is a red "RTA" with the 'T' being a wireless tower. I don't like it.

The logo doesn't NEED to have "WSU" or the full "Residential Technology Assistant" on it. It would be fine with just RTA or whatever you think looks best.

It should look good reproduced in black and white at various sizes. Color is great to use, but please pick colors that translate well into black and white.

Possibly, but not necessarily, keep the colors tied similarly to the official color scheme.

If you'd keep the colors somewhat http://identity.wsu.edu/web/guidelines/colors.aspx specific, that would be fantastic. Or you don't have to add colour. =]

If only I could draw. That picture looks really good would like to see how well it's ported to photoshop :p

^ nice job. Unfortunately it has to be 100% orig built. No cpy/paste images. You did do a good job. I just want it to be 10000% perfect.

The globe and the laptop is taken from google.

If anyone wants to just work on individual parts (like, just the globe, swoosh, or character) that's totally fine too!

Well, I can make the laptop + globe myself also, I just thought it was easier to just copy.

Yea, that's the thing about copying, it usually is.

Now every pixel is mine. Redid the globe and the laptop.

The laptop doesn't look original. But also, you should but the WSU cougar on the laptop screen. :)

Yep! I was planning on it. I just need to remake the face and I was being lazy with that. I was more concerned with the actual build. Other than that, thoughts?

Me personally, I like the on Frement made better. It's is the softness your image is missing. For one point, compare your globes. The edges are pixelly. And the map painted on it seems to realistic if compared with the toonie guy. The radio tower is to small and the colors do not match as well. Sorry I'm all negative, you do a better job than me, but this is just criticism. Try to make it softer and use less colors, or match them.

All: the purpose of this logo thingy is to to be put on name tags, fliers, stickers, and some posters. It will be from 2cm x 2cm up to much much larger prints.

I like it better then the previous version. Good job on the globe! Color scheme is also much prettier.

I do got a little note though, if you want to print this on a size of 2cm by 2cm, than you might lose some details. This is cause there are details on the details. For example(percentages are guesses): The person is about 80% of the image high. The laptop that person is holding is 35% of the person. The USB stick in the laptop is 20% of the laptop.
2 cm * 0.8 * 0.35 * 0.2 = 0,112 cm. I'm not sure if it will be visible in those sizes. This could be a bit of a flaw in the design. Maybe it ain't such a problem as I imagine ;).

If printed by a high quality printer the text would be much better readable. But the radio tower is unrecognizable. I already noticed it in the bigger picture, the top of the tower is black, yet it has to cross a dark grey area. Maybe you could add a very small glow behind it or replace it a bit. I am not sure how to fix this, this also seems to be a problem with frements version. He seems to fixed it with a white glow, but it makes it look a bit cheap.

Yea, I am sure a much much more expensive than my personal cheap printer will be used.

Good catch with the radio tower, I remember it was a bit hard to see, and I want to keep from making it look cheep/tacky.
