High cpu intensive

Smart will jack my CPU up to 80%

I can run 5 RSBuddy's and stay at about 85%

yeah, lets face it, Simba/scar/SMART rapes our CPU's…

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I can run two simba bots & it'll sit around 75-85% which I hate when I can run 4 rs buddy clients at 70%. Anytime I'm botting with Simba I have to close out my bot so I can play anything on Steam without my computer dying. That's really the only thing I dislike. D:

SMART can possibly be optimised a bit more, I think ben uses -O1, but -O2 should be possible. (Simba can probably be optimised too) The comparison is not fair though, Simba performs a much more intense task than RSBot, etc. It has to scan the screen, analyse it, and it does this a lot. RSBot just reads some values from the client.

Could have to do with the laggy WalkPath?

It's exactly what Wizzup said, it's just doing more than other bot clients. Guess I just have to deal with it until I can save up for a new computer. :\ This laptop has been through a lot, time to upgrade.

Yes.

Floor/IamAdam ~

I'm pretty sure that somebody has already done this, it might have been Home. I am not searching through the forum for it though.

I did it :P And I think Home/someone else did as well.
But it never got added. But… now I have commit access… woo, I'll test my one properly and commit if it works consistently.

I could run 6 RSbots getting essence and still be under 90% CPU.

Haven't tried with Simba/SRL/Smart

Can't wait will be looking out for it ;P.

I can run 2 simbers and rsbuddy with 2 tabs both in (use less cpu) mode and all together it uses 85% of my cpu. Just 3 simbers tho = 95% cpu useage around that area anyway.

Well there you go. Drag down the FPS bar in SMART and see if it helps.

I don't know why you guys are so (disapointed?) at SMART using more CPU than Java bots…. it's Java, and even the mainline client uses about as much CPU as SMART does. I would consider that a good thing that the SMART client uses about as much as the mainline client does.

You could just not use SMART and instead use your browser. SMART uses less resources than browsers that I have seen, so have fun with that as well.

I feel a lot of times that the high CPU usage is due to poor coding, one thing ive noticed is that people write the report in their mainloop, every 200-300ms. Writing to SMART is very CPU intensive for whatever reason and updating it that regularly is unnecessary, it still uses a lot of CPU though.

And Reflection uses more than (Don't remember name what RsBot uses) Like Nexus is damn huge Resource monster.

So..
Result is Simba And S.M.A.R.T Rocks!

10 SMART clients at one time? That's insane!

Psh, I used to run ~10 Aryan clients at once, and that was with a 2ghz single core cpu. Whoever develops SMART should really get on this.

I was just saying what i can run tbh which I'm very happy with :) Simba and SMART are amazing and i really enjoy using it to bot and script with. Never tried moving the FPS bar i might give it a go :)

The only thing i would like smart to be able to do is onscreen debug for IDs ;) haha, could that be possible ?

You mean that SMART would do that on it's own? It would be piece of cake to code a script for it tho.

Yeah, you click view then what you want to view and smart will show the IDs of ncps, objects, player animations and other stuff on the screen.
