I will be handing out lots of Azreals.

May I ask why there is a need to 'hand them out'? If people aren't 'up to par' with earning them, there's really nothing we can do about that, but I don't think we should just hand them out for fun.

Especially when almost all of the scripts that have been released recently aren't complicated, especially since they all use reflection.

I will come with lots of names, dont worry. Many need cupification.

Dont care if it is color or reflection. Work = work.

disagree NCDS: always handed them out for fun. Bet halve of all your cups was handed out by me personally.

But is the work really quality? Perhaps I've just become picky, but it doesn't seem people put in anywhere near the effort they did a year or so ago.

Perhaps Voter, as I'm not sure who gave me that one. I just don't support awarding people when they haven't earned it as it leaves the people who have earned it with nothing.

I think this would be a good time to implement your Guild members status or cup or whatever it was going to be, rather than depreciate cups.

The way I think of cups (scripters specifically) is that New comers should be able to see who has the cup, then when they need help on a script (no matter what the problem is) ask someone with a scripting cup, and that [person should have no problem answering.

I really don't feel like there is anyone out there like that right now. Especially since no one even knows how to right a color script using SRL anymore. It's become more Reflection or nothing, and the cup is SRL Scripter.

Just my feelings on the situation, but I'd love for you to respond. :)

Fawk is right, Effort must be rewarded, 'quality' or not.

Though that is a good point, so maybe another cup would be better lowering the standards for Azreal.

Reflection = Scripting.
Color = Scripting.

Is there some kind of note where says: "Color scripts are only worth for a cup" ?
Because for what i think is that, if some people like scripting with Reflection it's great.
If some people like to script with color it's great.

Isn't the point of creating scripts so we don't have to play Runescape?
It doesn't matter how we have created it or does it?
Isn't the biggest point that it works, and it accomplisesh our mission.
And isn't Azrael Scripters Cup. If you disagree with this, then please Define Scripter.

Our mission, just to remind you guys:
Mission Statement:
To blend in among fellow players, cloaked and in disguise; without anybody noticing or rejecting our presence. We fulfill an intellectual challenge; a fun game of cat and mouse. We are the hunted for over four years.

I always had the impression that the Scripter's Cup was for exceptional scripters. Doesn't matter to me whether the script is written in color or reflection, but either way they should show the same level of scripting knowledge, and in my opinion, that's harder to do with reflection simply because you can do things very very easily.

Why are you "handing out lots of azreals"?

A bit of desperation to spike scripting intrigue eh?

Scripter's Cup should be given to anyone who has contributed a decent script in the last 30 days.

It was never meant to be a recognition beyond successful effort, and not a reflection of skill.

Agreeing with Home and Cohen here. Definitely no reflection mouse specifically for reflection scripts.

Fakawi, if you feel that a lot of people need cups, why don't you hand them out? Or why don't you post a list of people who you think deserve it? You shouldn't hand them out just to hand some cups out; it would be unfair to the people who actually earned them.

I used to do that all the time, at least once a week, evaluate other people's work and cup if appropriate. I stopped because it was too random in the eyes of the community. And that was probably true.

I see so many scripts, not all of them 100% ok, but I see all the effort that has been put into it. I see the pride of the owner, the blood, sweat and tears. I wish to reward to show them I care. Because if we don't care anymore, we're lost.

  • ONE working but lasting script (two months?)
  • MULTIPLE working scripts, not tested to last yet

Think He means for the cup to be more towards Effort, and not just ability. Having the ability and not using it is not something that should be rewarded. Someone actively learning and using the ability to Script for the community is something to be encouraged and so they get the Cup. That's how I'm seeing it now anyways.

They haven't been handed out to people who would get them by that definition either. In fact the past couple of years they have hardly been given out hardly at all because rarely did anyone take the time to analyze where the needed to be, not because they were harder to get.
