Can I ask what getting 'cleaned' actually does to your account, and why?

Getting cleaned means getting shit on at D.A

Staking is bad for you.
within minutes 100 of mills could dissapear </3
but within minutes you can get 100m <3.

Well if you staked with no edge, then your risk of ruin is 100%, so i'd assume you find an edge somehow?

Staking is like gambling, you win some, you loose some, and some get addicted.
Getting cleaned is when you stake a bunch and in the end loose all of your money.

:'[ I'm really sorry to hear that n3ss3s, have more self control next time!

Next time you start, each staking session you have withdraw X amount of money and ONLY use that for staking, if you loose it all, stop for the day, or once you reach X amount and are happy with profits, stop for the day.

How do you mean an edge?

n3ss3s

smurg: Obviously you're not a staker lol

Yohojo: Naa m8 I don't really stake to make money, more like stake to stake… Just put up this shop to make some cash before I get cleaned but guess it was too late lol.

Anyway I made 20m into the 6b I had last night, before that I've gotten to same amount from 50m, no biggy really…

5. A margin of superiority; an advantage:

As in having someone else stake say 1.2x what you do, etc, or just having better stats.

I've staked before, but wouldn't consider myself a "staker". Why would you say I wasn't?

Does every maxed person in boxing stake straight up 1:1? That'd be kind of dumb for anyone to try that consistently and think they can win long term.

Yes, they do. Except for the 2 retards who spend all day autotalking there trying to get someone to accept summoning on. And you can win long term like that, it just depends on goals. If I was looking to keep a bank instead of getting some kind of a thrill, I wouldn't have kept doing phat stakes after 6b bank…

The martingale betting system (I think that's what it's called?) is pretty good for maxed out boxing if you're not just there for thrill and don't stray from it. In my experience it makes staking much more profitable/safe, but it's still betting so if you're very unlucky or have a small cash pile you can still get cleaned.

I was making ~50m/day using it (1m being the original bet), but I had a small cash pile so I was _almost_ getting cleaned probably once/day (but didn't.. yet). You can obviously make more per day but you'd have to increase your original bet and therefor risk getting cleaned more.

You can't win long term on a 0% ROI, you'll have 100% risk of ruin, it's just statistics.

Same as above, you have a 100% risk of ruin, but you'll just go broke faster (saves you time).

Anyways, should probably take this to a different thread lol.

Do you realize that 100% means you'd lose every fight? The best description of maxed boxing is that its 50 50, you might win every other, or you might win 5 and lose 10, win 5 when u do small ass stakes a year from now and then lose 10 again…

Do you realize that risk of ruin takes into account many trials, it doesn't determine the outcome of a single data point.

"The risk or ruin (also known as the probability of ruin) is the probability that you will lose sufficient trading capital that you deem it impossible or unwise to continue trading."

Risk of Ruin = e^[-2 x WR x BR รท (SD x SD)]

WR (winrate) = 0 with no edge (50/50).
BR (bankroll) = (amount of money you have to stake with) and in this case is, (Staking $) / ($ Per Stake)
SD (standard deviation) = 1 for a 50/50 coinflip.

Your risk of ruin is 1.0, aka 100%.

I ran trials in matlab, and with 50/50 coinflips, you'll get a graph that fluctuates around +30/-30 on either side, incrementing by 1, and it will cross 0 multiple times.

You have to have an edge or you will get cleaned every time (eventually).

You may have short term variance and be above 0 at any point, but it will always come back down below 0, and you don't have infinite wealth.

Well, imagine 'Win All Day' doing martingale with 1m original bet… it wouldn't be practical for him to do, but it'd take a lot of bad luck to get cleaned like that. :p

But for the average maxed out staker, yeah no matter what you do you're going to get cleaned sometime as there's no edges (without cheating.. can you still xlog?) that you can get except if you're really good at mage boxing, switch from attack to defence while boxing (not sure if it actually helps), or can first hit on rapier fights every time (not really a huge edge unless they suck a lot). Staking shouldn't be seen as a permanent source of money, and people should set realistic limitations of where they have enough GP and leave.

If you want to actually have staking as your source of money, it's best to create a staking-specific account with 1 summoning/prayer and whatever stats are ideal.

You won't get cleaned every time if you decrease your bet when you're at the top, but most people don't feel like doing that and favour getting cleaned in a glorious battle.
