I semi-regular the Rants forums on RS, and just noticed this sticky. Not sure how old it is, I just know it's fairly new.

Too much to copy/paste and all of it is pretty significant.

Are these "events" f2p or p2p or both? Have any of you seen a or even attended one of these events?

I lol'ed at the part where people who spend money get stat/ bank roll back to before they started botting. I know it's nothing new, but still :)

That thread is absolutely right.. Bot busting just happened like 1-2 hrs ago.. I watched multiple worlds of bots go down at sorceress garden.. (im 88 theiving now.. going for herblore atm)

Mod Cocoa's clan is running around f***ing up shit.. And im 100% serious.. I was lucky enough to be there and respond when they asked me questions.. I ask what theyre doing and Princess Rae replies: "Join the fun. Join clanchat Mod Cocoa"

Theyre being serious.. At karamja, all the fishing bots got screwed and at sorceress garden.. I havent seen any others though but be on the look out..

I havent botted for the rest of the day after i saw that :S

Hmm so they are just going around asking questions and if you don't respond you get banned? Pretty freaky, luckily all the botting I do can be done anywhere… alching ftw. Just gonna hide in some abandoned building :p

EDIT* Oh, also, SRL ftw as well with "Log out when mod appears" in random detection. That should really keep us safe… Atleast I hope.

Lol. I was about to get rid of that in one of my scripts lol. It seemed pointless until now, guess ill have to rethink that lol

Maybe this is why there are hardly ANY bots @ varrock mining ess in p2p? there used to be soooo many..
Like 2-3 days ago there was a solid line to aubery, now there is like 3 runners?

ROFL. I spent the past day coding, and i just completed a flawless rimmington yew chopper. It was free, is flawless (mainly), and gets me about 1m per day with 2 accs in ftp. :D

The fact that the P-Mods themselves have to personally log-in and start and event in order to catch bots is to me a sign that their current bot-busting system is no good against the macro technology nowadays :)

Looks like more advanced auto-talkers may need to be developed/implemented into scripts? And at the risk of sounding repetitive i too lol'd at the rollbacks kekeke.

well im happy there getting rid of some of the annoying bots like the tree choppers and miners. im ok because i always babysit my account

There certainly are a bit less bots … Too bad though, I bet half the mods bot too…

So that explains why my woodcutters were suddenly facing far less competition for a few days. Numbers are starting to increase again.

Not only do we heavily roll back the skill that was built using a macro, we also heavily roll back other stats.

Yeah I was running around with them and posting bot spots in the thread

they just go up and question everyone saying hey whats up what's your favorite skill to level .. or whatever

I hate their forum, it is so bad… horribly made.. you have to re-login when you go to a different tab and stuff.. insanely bad.

also the organization & sticky & locations are horrid.

Hey I gotta point this out to u.. My chat was off when they came.. U can still see what a mod says no matter what… it still showed up thats how I managed to know someone talked cuz.. this saved me:

It played a sound even when chat was off… cuz chat off doesnt apply to mods.. And those were only two locations I mentioned in the previous post.. my friend said he saw some at the yews near catherby.
There is also another sticky where they're getting a whole bunch of ppl to sign up for bot hunting and on a certain day (I think it was every month) They go around hunting bots.. If I remember what section it is, I'll post it here.

FindMod needs to be fixed anyways, iirc it's broken.

I'm almost tempted to post on that thread… I've been auto-ing 24/7 with no breaks on 3 different accounts (all at the same time) for about 6 months now… auto-ing carefully doesn't even matter anymore… Looks like mods and sad lil kids are the only things we need to worry about lolz.. (I don't care about the game or the accounts, just testing Jagex)

They'll just ban you, they did it to a few other people who did that.

It would be interesting to see if Jagex hired more administrators just to go around all day and find bots to ban. That could be considered the ultimate bot detection system considering software can only do so much while a human has logic and knowledge at their disposal.

We need an auto response system :p

Well, since you probably all know that banning is all done automatic (no interference from people, thats why they have a report button duh), evidentally Jagex isnt capable of properly handling automated banning anymore. This could be because noone reports due to the sheer influx of bots, or Java bots are designed to circumvent the äutomated banning (little randomisation in pathing, clicking etc) and do nothing that triggers an automated ban. (Like we have been practicing for years)

I think it is the first, but one thing is clear beyond doubt: at the moment Jagex is lost!

few 99's.. going for 99smith (90 on one acc, 82 on another) I've given up on mining and wc (too many bots, not enough resources) so i either waste money for skills or make money skilling (cballs ftw lol)

If I'm not mistaken, isn't it easy to tell if the java client has been hacked/altered? thus easy to find java bots? I'd love to know what Jagex actually does… lol

Charlie Sheen = Winning.

The best thing Jagex could do to combat botting this by making the game less grindy and more interesting to play.

Not only would it draw people in to actually play, but it would make it more difficult for bots to run (but I am sure they still would).

I still have to wonder why they removed randoms… They where super fun and helped combat bots, yet the took them out?

Some forums default to being sorted by title, so this would appear at the top due to the quotation marks. Just clicked the "last post by" twice, and it should order it by time correctly :)

yeah damn, that seems pretty crazy how mods did that at one point. I botted through all of that on my main on epicbot/rsbuddy and never even heard about it. Banned in 2013 after 5 years of successful botting… RIP

I know this is an old post, but seeing as some people already bumped it… I think one of my old accounts was banned this way. I was mining in Rimmington and all I remember is coming to my computer at the right time and seeing a mod repeatedly asking me questions. By the time I got there and replied he had already asked about 5 questions, so it was pretty clear what I was doing. This was while Nexus was popular. Haven't seen anything like this happening lately, and that was surprisingly the last account of mine that was banned.




Also, nothing pisses me off more than the entitled RS players who think they deserve a response from me. To them, if you don't reply you're automatically botting. Maybe I just don't want to talk to you!

i was almost banned way back when i first started botting this way. i came back to my computer to see a mod was talking to my account for a while before i noticed. since i was fishing i convinced him that i was just afk.

Yeahh… I know this is like really old post as the guy above me pointed out but they actually have twitch streams of bot busting all the time. It's really frustrating, I could just imagine watching one of those streams and seeing my own account getting bot-busted… that would be the worst

Yeah Srl has a good mod detection function which turns out quite helpfull.
