Well, I've added global keybindings (at the moment the same as on Windows, Ctrl+Alt+S) on Linux. And it works nicely. To use it you need the libkeybinder library. https://github.com/MerlijnWajer/Simba/commit/ac0f977cc833155e1d81ad892a8c83721923c67a

I ran into libkeybinder by accident when installing some packages for volume control. Went to investigate and found it to be perfectly suited for Simba. I'm unsure whether to ship it with Simba or statically link it into Simba.

On a side note, any other requests for (global) hotkeys?

I'd say just link it. At least until Simba can run native on Linux.

Do you happen to know if the same problem I had would happen with libkeybinder? (I'm on my 7 partition atm.)

I'll file a bug with my global key bindings in a second.

The same issue will be there.

$ ./Simba
[WARNING] Binding '<Ctrl><Alt>S' failed!

When there was another Simba running. A possiblity is to bind <Ctrl><Alt><S><Simba#> ?

Would you want that global though? :p

I guess if there are multiple Simbas that'd be fine. If you could have Ctrl Alt S and then have numbers in the titles until a number is pressed then that'd be good. If there's only one it should stop it no matter what though.

Also, is there a Ctrl Alt P and Ctrl Alt R?

I added Ctrl+Alt+P and Ctrl+Alt+R (Pick Colour and Run Script respectively) to the Linux base. It'll be added to Windows as soon as I figure out what Ray's code does. ;)

Only if Simba was the active window. Other things use F2/F9, so it can't be done if it's in the background.
