The SendKeys in simba seems not to be working properly.

Program TestingSimba0.95;

Begin
SendKeys('The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. ~!@#$%^&*()_+');
SendKeys('"Quotation Marks"');
End.
From: SimbaResult
The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. `1234567890-=
'Quotation Marks'

I tested it against scar just for shiggles.

Program TestingScar3.25b;

Begin
SendKeys('The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. ~!@#$%^&*()_+');
SendKeys('"Quotation Marks"');
End.
From: ScarResult
The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. ~!@#$%^&*()_+
"Quotation Marks"

Any suggestions?

Well-known problem, and as far as I know, there is no ways to fix this script-wise yet

You can use the functions from SRL. They work properly. This is a known issue and we didn't implement it because if we did it the way SRL does it, there would still be errors with different keyboard layouts. I'm not an expert on the Windows API so I don't know what solutions Windows offers.

neither does typesend… I've tried to typesend(char(38)); that doesnt work.. I'm not sure what it has to do with windows because it works fine for me in c++ but smart redefines these keys.. if u tried it without smart then iunno

if u tried to typesend the up down left right keys, they will not work either.

Wizzup?, what would the SRL function equivalent be? - I don't want to type it out, it needs to be sent in similar to SendKeys().

What solution would be offered on a different API?

Nielsie posted a possible solution for Windows, MapVirtualKey. I (or someone else) will have to look into it.

You can find his reply in mantis.

I believe this is the issue: http://bugs.villavu.com/view.php?id=299

Here is the code download link: http://bugs.villavu.com/file_download.php?file_id=46&type=bug

Also, thanks Wizzup, I had downloaded it when he posted that up. I was looking at it, but it's nice to know some people who actually know what they are doing will give it a glance.

Wizzup, what solution would be offered on a different API? You said you could get by it on linux?

It's probably possible on Linux, but I haven't looked into it yet. Since it's not of extreme priority and you can't actually macro on Linux yet with Pascalscript being nasty I'll probably won't worry about the Linux equivalent of this for some time, until it's brought up again and required. Perhaps it already works on Linux, I don't know. ;)

E: I think there's actually a fair chance it already works on Linux.
