Haha, Jagex killed my script!

I guess it is one of these days. Without going into details; I return home from a very rough day, I log in runescape (update) and….What…The…F…., Huuuuuuh?????

My spot, my precious spot Jagex left so peacefully dorment for 5 years, my Ratz spot, the Hill with the two rats east of Port Sarim, I spent years over there…….My Happy Little Runescape, my best script ever….month of work…sob….destroyed. Thoroughly.

The overhaul is dramatic. For years i callibrated on the three rock in the minimap. Rocks are gone. Callibration gone. Grrr.

All trees have changed, with a huge color range (brown-blackish to green) and much wider branches hiding the goblins.

Rock are almost the same as the hidden rats under the branches.

Haha, they killed my script bigtime. It is of no use at all anymore. 3.5K lines. Pffffft in thin air. They have done this to me once before, but this is ridiculous :)

P.S. I was planning to release it members without a big manual… today.

Tis bitters sometimes. At least now I have a couple of lvl-50's again! (but my birthday is coming so ssshhh no birthday-threads please…lol)

I still think that you should release it, Wizzy ;)
Even in the Outdated script section, it'd be a good learning tool :D

Was looking forward to this…. I think you're still ahead of the game regardless :p

That majorly sucks, unlucky

Besides the fact that the trees are ugly and too big for the tiny fixed screen, they ruined a great spot :(

They ruined the speed of my script too… this is Jagex's master-plan of changing stuff that they think no one plays legit at, just to mess with botters.

That is a major pain. And I was hoping you were going to release it!!

Yep, the cooking pot in the lumby chicken pen was nixed (ChickenKiller used). And they covered the north bridge across the river Lum, so you can no longer bombard helpless ducks from there (LAME used).

There's no way these are mere coincidences.

Such a bummer :(

I suppose it's good reason to learn SPS and do some hardcore walking, though

EDIT: Tara, I still have my 20+ accounts with 50+ mage on them, tyvm <3

I've got a rat maging spot… could be used for ranging and melee too, and the drops could probably cover the costs…

Fawki, let me know if you wanna have a look at what I have.. :)

Are you sure about that? It crossed my mind, but these spots are hardly a thread, albeit very discouraging for new legits. Their priorities should be aimed at stopping the java-bots…..not us :)

I will try to think of something genius first, and if that doesn't come, I think I will move my armies to barbarian village or the rats arena below varrock and start all over :)

Ye they did that for the pking script I did last year (I posted the script in member section for like a week). For a good 6 month they delayed special attack for dragon claw if you switch more than 2 item. Since then they just made your attack "lag" if you switch more than 2 item.

Haha, let me recover from the shock first. Already have some freaky ideas for callibration.

It is no use releasing a script that doesn't work. But if you presist learning color, than trace my steps. you will find I have written a color scripts for all skills :)

Is there any other covered bridge in all of RS? Not that I know of. And when they removed the farmhouse cooking spot, they didn't add any other functionality to the farm house that would require a revamp at all.

If you do a google search for runescape scripts, this website is often the top result. So if you have a high visibility script on a high visibility site that does unique things like stand on the north Lum bridge bombarding ducks (that 99.9% of RS players would never think of doing, let alone for hours at a time), it's a way to do SOMETHING to stop botting, with a measurable impact. I really think Jagex is at a total loss how to stop the java-bots, so they go after the low hanging fruit, even if it has a negligible impact on botting as a whole.

Wow, sad time to WT-Fakawi. That really slurps. So much time and effort, at least (hopefully) you learned new ways to do things in the process and can say you are a better programmer from it! ;) Now you can bust out an equally impressive one in less time. Positive thinking.

^THIS. Really, they can't handle it. And I think they really don't want to get rid of all the bots anyhow, otherwise they would make more of an effort at that. They talk all the time about making bans and new improvements, I certainly see none of that having any true effect..
