The majority of maples come from either botters cutting them or legitimate players gathering them from Miscellania.
Since very few people do either anymore it's basically shit the bed for prices.

It's the Referrer header and it's passed to any link that you press! try it: http://www.w3.org/International/questions/qa-headers-charset#answer

But srsly. I don't think they access your history. And even then, it's not like they care. My rs username is L4D, too. I posted about a Jagex mod directly replying to me about botting on the forums with link. No ban, yet.

better be safe than sorry; use a link shortener service (something like bit.ly?) or don't link at all

1st February 2011 free trade update caused the amount of bots to increase. The sudden price drop was soon over and as the number of bots increased, the amount of them caused the speed efficiency of gathering logs to decrease per player. That increased the price of maple logs to over 90 coins.

No longer true actually. F2P have been able to cut them for a while now.

One of the resource dungeons is awesome for this. Bunch of maple and willow trees with a bank deposit box right there, and not heavily used. I remember seeing a script request for this very thing a while back.

No deposit box, you have to bank at Fremmenik banker near Daemonheim, or Al Kharid.

You're thinking of the dwarven resource dungeon with coal and a deposit box. My banking method for the wc island is to tele to Daemonheim with the ring of kinship, then run back.

Maples are very useful for burning shades remains or vyrewatch so ppl that can't stand the temple building activity just buy maples and sacred oil. It is good profit to sell the maple pyrelogs too.
