I have no idea where to put this so if someone wants to move it go ahead.

I turn 18 soon and my parents are kicking me off there phone plan and I plan to get an iPhone 4. I just want to know for an individual person what would be the best provider.

Just remember, the more apps you have on it the slower it will go

I prefer verizon over at&t by far

Everyone complains about ATT bad service stuff. I found that it really depends on where you live, in certain places ATT coverage is great, and others it's flaky.

For pricing, just look online/talk to someone instore about what plan you want and see who offers cheaper!

So far online AT&T is cheaper. I live near Seattle, WA so coverage isn't much of a big deal. I will go in and see what the best deals are. I just wanted some input before I go in.

No harm in looking at androids. Heck, get an Android… but if you do you'l have the second best phone… :p

iPhone's are great. I'd suggest AT&T. Wait for the iPhone 5 if you can. Otherwise get the iPhone 4(what i have). I'd suggest finding someone to share a plan with(a bit cheaper) but if you cannot you are looking at about 85$ a month for:

750 anywhere mins
2gb data plan

Yea, get the iPhone 4 or wait for the iPhone 5, i think it's coming out in June. Jailbreak is a must, but there's nothing you can't do with an iPhoneeeeee. I'm so happy with it. I can even do ARP poisoning !

Nokia N900 has aircrack-ng/wireshark and runs full blown Linux, so I suppose you could use it to go wardriving and do some arp poisoning as well.

Doesn't the iPhone have wifi? if so, just use that.

Get Verzion. Verizons 3G is… unlimited. none of this 2gb a month crap from AT&T

Verizon unlimited data plan isn't going to be unlimited much longer. IIRC they're rolling out tiered data services this summer.

I have an Ipod Touch cycrosism and it is a much easier with the 3G and 4G then having to wait for internet. If I wanted to wait til I got home I would just use my computer.
