Okay, I just found this out and I wanted to share it with whoever cares.

For those who don't know - Chessy018 was a well known player, due to hoarding 1000 Santa hats, and being one of the most wealthy Runescape players.


Apparently the clan (or whatever) Final Ownage Elite was responsible.

Pardon any mis-information I don't really keep up with "famous/well known RS players" I just thought this was interesting.

Also, apparently the account(s) responsible was frozen. All those rares are gone now.

I wouldn't be too happy if that happened to me.

For being such a good hoarder/money maker he must have made a really silly mistake to get hacked…..
Wonder if he had a bank pin that got known too or if he just had the items in his inventory.

Hmm I'd really like to hear more information about this are all of those items seriously gone?

Also, sidenote, yeah you would expect the price if all rates to go up because there are less in te game now, but I doubt the majority of people who play even know about this incident so I doubt anything will be effected too much.

Edit: also since this guy last SO MUCH jagged should really do something about helping him recover the goods and punishing the hackers.

Apparently he/she was inactive for quite some time, and had actual questions for his/her recovery. Big mistake. Should of had a long string of letters/numbers for all of them. Even I do that for my main, and my net worth is only ~200m lol.

That's fucking LAME. I know it's just a game, but whoever did that should be lynched.

It's real, I have been posting pictures about her hacking for the past week in IRC making people shit themselves at her wealth lol.

Her account was worth $100k+
(Santa hats alone are $80k at 70 cents a mill)

150 B rsgp = $150 000 USD if you sell them $1/m… $150 000 for a freakin' RuneScape account!!!

Yes, there were even posts on the RSOF by Jagex mods.

this is what I know from reading this EVERYWHERE!!!

First off the account got recovered by someone who did a background check on who chessy was etc. took apparently 5 tries before the account was recovered by them and 2-3 weeks research.

I think 70% of the wealth was taken and put onto numerous accounts, Jagex then jumped into action!!!! All accounts that were linked to Chessy's items were instantly locked (all accounts also associating with that IP address got locked)

ALSO according to jagex mod's I am fairly certain that the items aren't being put back into chessy's account due to the fact that it would be unfair to other players who have lost their items through being hacked!
(I personally feel that Chessy018 should be an exception due to the fact that she controls the prices for quite a few items, especially santa hats!…well did!!)

After this whole fiasco I am fairly sure Chessy018 has completely quit runescape, she will be missed :( even by me as her clan chat helped me flip so many items for quite a sum of money :).

She didn't control any prices - none of the items on her account were even in the market. She has been inactive for a while too.

well I am sure she kept santa prices up due to being rare.. if she sold all her santa's I am sure that the prices would drop dramatically?

EDIT: can I change my statement to, she had the ability to shift the market if she wanted?

Street value will change because of this, not really market value (dunno how they do that still :p).

I used to always join chessy018's clan chat. I remember the day she was hacked, it wasn't that long ago, definitely in the last week, I'd say sometime between 4-7 days ago.

I quit the clan that day because it was barely about merchanting anymore and the day she was hacked everyone was obviously all like "omg chessy was hacked omg omg omg" and I didn't feel like listening to it all day. And you can't even get in her clan anymore.

But my point is, yes it is true chessy018's account was hacked, but I don't know if she lost all her rares, but I wouldn't doubt it.

EDIT: account was hacked March 17.

A rank of chessy's clan recorded the convo and posted the video, in the video the hacker of chessy's account mentions the date, and the video title says the date also.

I know a person who was in FOE, but i haven't played RS with him in at least a year. I tried to highscore him and his account was banned. Too bad its too late to call him tonight.

They had managed to SE her pin in advance, and IIRC they recovered the acc through her email…

Had a chat with Andy on Skype in a group call about a week after this happened and apparently everyone who interacted with Chessy018 during the time period her account was hacked got banned.

So nothing was gained out of hacking the account. :I:I
