I was thinking of buying a VPS to use for botting since my mother doesn't like it when I leave my PC on all night.
I have no idea what to look for, though. I guess that having Ubuntu shouldn't be an issue since Simba can work on Ubuntu with WINE.
I'm looking for a pretty low-cost per month VPS so I could perhaps support it off of the money I make off of gold farming on it. The method I use yields me about 80k/h per-Simba (so 2 simbas=160k/h, etc.).
How much MB RAM should I be thinking of? Disk space and bandwith should be fine with whatever I choose.
Simba uses about 250MB per instance, right? I want to run 2 or max. 3 at a time.
Also, what is "Swap" for, exactly? I know it has something to do with when you use up all your RAM that you don't get errors and stuff, right?
From what I've seen so far, "Versio" is the best choice for me. It's located in the Netherlands.
They have quite a few options.
First of all, it's divided in "Starter" and "Expert" packages.
The difference is just in the bandwith (Expert has x2) and Starter has "OpenVZ" whereas Expert has "Xen". What's the difference between those?
Furthermore, both of them are divided into "Light", "Medium" and "Large" with…
Are these good prices? The company is rated 97/100 by ISPGids.nl (dutch independent rating website for dedis, vpss, webhosting, etc.).
Thanks in advance! Hope I provided sufficient information, else just ask me!
P.S.:
Why are the Expert packages so much more expensive? Is the difference between Xen and OpenVZ that big?
