Saw you post this yesterday, I was really mad about it.
The girl was such a jerk to him and then her crying and all annoyed me extra.
What disgusted me most were the corrupt, idiotic cops!
Their jobs are to uphold the law and serve justice, these idiots were doing the complete opposite!
The kid sounds like an intelligent nice guy too.

Man that is a load of bs, I can't stand that kind of intolerance. Somebody please smack these cops.

F*cked up is all I can say. Stuff like this in the US pisses me off.

Although I know stuff like this unfortunately happens in every day life (be it racism or otherwise), the irony of the whole story being incredibly one-sided while one-sidedness/favoritism/racism being one of the key issues discussed doesn't let me take it seriously =/

That's completely ridiculous and unnecessary, I really fail to see how such a warrant would have been granted in the first place…

However, we can't immediately link that to racism as such, as it could have been some other form of prejudice against him, perhaps the PD has a motive to support the girl, to an obscene extent.

Still a sickening story, even moreso if it is linked to racism.

The racist party in France is the most popular a this current moment.. hmm

Racism isn't too common here in the Netherlands. There's some movement against the Islam which is semi-popular but that's just because they spread/invent fear. And since Islam is a religion not a race, it's not really racism, is it?

Also, Nava and others, did you really have to use offensive language?

Guy wants to study. Finally finds a study room. Goes to get laptop charger. Comes back and sees girl there. Fight over who should be there. Cops come. Girl cries. Guy makes complaint against cops. Guy gets arrested for abduction, no info given as to who charged him. His trial is on the 6th of April + he's banned from the library for 2 weeks + he had to sit in jail for 17 hours. Cops were being all like racist yo!

Very very one sided. Everything there is just what some girl has heard her co-worker say about a friend. And everything the co-worker has heard is from Abdi.

I find it ironic that we are all feeling sorry for Abdi not getting to tell his side of the story, when all we have heard is his side of it.

Not hating, just saying.

If it's all true, then that is terrible - but it would be good to get both sides of the story.

All I can say is, how can people be so insensitive? and out there to harm others of a different culture! If Abdi was Caucasian the police would have taken this 'apparent' offence a whole different way!

I honestly don't see the "racist" slant to this story. The only hint of racism is from what the girl told him about being prejudiced against "foreigners" and wanting to get him in trouble. And of course, that's his word against hers.

Beyond that it just sounds like Abdi was antagonizing the officers at every opportunity, and they were on a power-trip and decided to teach him a lesson by abusing their authority. I honestly think this could happen to someone of any race or nationality, and don't see the connection. Try being a smart-alec to the cops next time you're pulled over on a routine traffic stop and see how long before you end up in jail.

abduction seems like the sort of thing that they wouldn't let you out of prison for…and the article said that they hadn't dropped the charges right? I'm not sure i get it. Gosh, people like that are quite annoying. If i had even the beginnings of his situation, I would probably flip out and brain one of them with my laptop. I feel he handled the situation fairly calmly.

This guy handled very well for his situation, its really messed up there are people like that :/, I had plenty of racist crap happen to me as well but if something like this would happen to me i don't know what i would do :S

If that was me I would probably order a hit contract on the girl (If it didn't get sorted out)

Cops hate dealing with youthful people IMO..

That's really messed up. While there are shades of racism that may be at play, I don't think it was a prevalent factor in what happened. It would be nice to know the point of view of everyone involved (Namely the girl and Rapoli). I know one thing though - that charge on abduction will be lifted.

Wow, it just gets worse and worse as you read. This is disgusting, people like that should be castrated. And then forced to eat it.

Every damn sentence just made my rage meter go up and up until it blew.
