Which random detection is better? Color or reflection?

Is reflection random detection better then color's random detection? Or is it the other way around. Thanks.

Depends on if you mean right this second or in theory or wat.

Theoretically, reflection randoms should work 100% of the time, as long as IDs and all are updated.

But that's not how things work, afaik.

As far as I know, SRL randoms work quite well.

for detection? just use the music list lol. im pretty sure each random has its own rs music. for solving reflection is pro. but if your making a script the pro thing to do would to have a color backup.

Use Both :) (It won't hurt :) )

Reflection.
Just to be the antithesis of Wizzup? :P

I think SRL (used to) use this. The musics.

True. The reason they don't anymore is because the Music tab isn't visible in all randoms anymore, IIRC.

Also, I've had more instances of "working" Reflection solvers failing than color solvers. Soo..for solving reflection is not "pro", currently at least.

There is really no need for all the reflection solvers as the working color solvers actually work all the time (in my experience). Personally, I think reflection should focus on the randoms color currently doesn't solve; Mordaut and Prison pete specifically.

Can SRL solve the Maze? I don't know because the doors are the same colour as… well everything else.

Thats a good point. Thanks everyone, and who ever said to use both, I heard you shouldn't do that.

Yes, Naum made a color maze solver, he's awesome!

Why do threads like these exist?

Is it not obvious that reflection is better (better: the context of probability of accuracy)?

Color solvers work better because they are coded better. Reflection solvers aren't coded so well.

Have the same coder write the same solver in reflection and in color.

SRL's randoms working well is sort of a shameless exaggeration… it gets by

I've seen reflection fail a lot more than color.. If I leave my character be I make sure both are running

Well, I'd say they exist because people wonder what solvers are better when we're not looking at the probability of accuracy. Well done contradicting yourself.

If all you people have reflection randoms failing, then maybe you should report it so it can get fixed.

For the prison random, is there anything we could retrieve before the 15 minutes are up to help reflection developers? since most of the time there's no time to send an account..

Yup. JaGeX has us by the balls for donating accounts in the Prison random >.>

The account stays in the random after 15 minutes, if you could donate the account, we can gather NPC information.

What happens after 15 minutes is the door is unlocked, and you escape to a random location.

As for better solver, currently, colour, with the exception of maudaut, and possibly maze.
In the future, I think that IF reflection is accepted properly as a part of SRL, and we get more developers, reflection will be unbeatable.

We don't need accounts, we just need to load the model and get one set of information from that model(such as the first array of vertices). Then that will allow us to identify the correct npc 100% of the time.

Why not write a script that detects if you're in it, and then will dump all the information it can get?

Interesting… I like that idea.
