smart bug or...?

Lets say I run 20 willow bots "willpower" from floor66
and have a few msi scripts open…

all on different virtual machines

everything works FINE.

I then start to run this script:
http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61653

it works FINE.

then.. I run another one of dooms miners…

BAM screen goes black
(screen as in smart)
I put the second dooms miner on a different computer... screen goes black.

I can stop script.. spam disable smart.. nothing turns it off of all black

I can run it in a different virtual machine, different IP address.. doesn't even matter, no matter what the screen goes black if I run two.

I also have tested different smart worlds

same world = instant black, they won't even make it to login screen.. the script can't see the screen either it gets lost

even if it's on a different computer with same smart world, screen black.

by the way, the only screens that will go black are dooms script

all other scripts are unaffected with it.. 2 dooms miners = black

edit:

it's only with his newest version

edit:

nvm, it happens with only one.. just takes a lot longer

version 1.3 of his script does it to me

no other script has this problem so idk what his script does to smart that other don't but leaving it black for like 30 mins with script off.. trying to disable / enable it nothing gets it back

How much memory is Simba using when that happens? He uses GroundItems which leaks a bit, if I recall correctly.

Ah, I'll check that out.

I was telling him about RRL's ground models which would work really well too.. I'll watch the memory & run it now

edit:

it happens after about an hour of running.. the memory drops & so does the cpu usage, almost as if it went on pause & freed the whole script from memory…

edit:

ok now it's.. starting to do it with any script……

I had this happen today too. For me when it happened my memory usage was ridiculously high. Closing and re-opening simba fixed it, though.

E: This happens even when I don't use GroundItems. Any ideas?

I have noticed that Simba slowly raises memory usage as it runs. Whenever RS loads a new area while my script is walking, the memory usage goes up but never goes back down.

Here's my walk function:

function ClosestTile(Tiles : TTileArray) : Integer;
var
Temp, k : Integer;
begin
if not LoggedIn then
Exit;
Temp := 1000;
for k := 0 to High(Tiles) do
begin
if (DistanceFrom(Tiles[k]) < Temp) and (DistanceFrom(Tiles[k]) > 0) then
begin
Temp := DistanceFrom(Tiles[k]);
Result := k;
end;
end;
end;

function WalkTowardTile(T : TTile) : Boolean;
var
Ti, Me : TTile;
Tr, tx, ty : Integer;
begin
if not LoggedIn then
Exit;
Tr := 0;
Debug('Can''t find next tile. Trying to walk closer.');
while not TileOnMM(T) do
begin
Me := GetMe.Tile;
tx := (T.x - Me.x)/2 + Me.x;
ty := (T.y - Me.y)/2 + Me.y;
Ti := Tile(tx, ty);
if TileOnMM(Ti) then
WalkToTile(Ti, 3, 1)
else
T := Ti;
if Tr > 5 then
begin
Result := False;
Exit;
end;
end;
Result := True;
end;

procedure Walk(ToBank : Boolean);
var
i : Integer;
begin
if not LoggedIn then
Exit
else if ToBank and not (Location = 'at bank') then
begin
Debug('Walk : To Bank : Begin');
SetRun(False);
for i := ClosestTile(PathTiles) + 1 to High(PathTiles) do
begin
if not DistanceFrom(PathTiles[i]) < 5 then
begin
Debug('Walk : To Bank : Tile #' + IntToStr(i));
if not TileOnMM(PathTiles[i]) and not WalkTowardTile(PathTiles[i]) then
begin
WriteLn('***Failed to walk. Switching players(False)***');
SwitchPlayers(False, 'Failed to walk.');
end;
WalkToTile(PathTiles[i], 2, 1);
AntiBanShort;
Wait(250 + Random(250));
end;
end;
end else if not (Location = 'at mine') then
begin
Debug('Walk : To Mine : Begin');
SetRun(True);
for i := ClosestTile(PathTiles) - 1 downto 0 do
begin
if not DistanceFrom(PathTiles[i]) < 5 then
begin
Debug('Walk : To Mine : Tile #' + IntToStr(i));
if not TileOnMM(PathTiles[i]) and not WalkTowardTile(PathTiles[i]) then
begin
WriteLn('***Failed to walk. Switching players(False)***');
SwitchPlayers(False, 'Failed to walk.');
end;
WalkToTile(PathTiles[i], 2, 1);
AntiBanShort;
Wait(250 + Random(250));
end;
end;
MarkTime(Mining);
end;
end;

Looks like runescape itself has memory leaks too, which doesn't help us..

'o.O you sure..?

Runescpe takes up a lot of memory regardless.. What does it get up to for you?

This happens to me as well. Everytime I use WalkPath and the client loads new area couple of times, I get the black SMART screen.

The only way this does not happen, is when the client doesn't have to load new areas while walking. Sometimes when this happens, I get an error in Simba console complaining that the TileHight hooks are incorrect.

I'll check out the loading part, I noticed rs doesn't drop memory when it loads new area's

I tested it for a few hours, especially upon switch from high quality full screen to fixed & small window it can still be using 2 gigs and will not release, even if I logout it'll keep that two gigs.

I just did some troubleshooting. even the browser RS client seems to leak staying on one quality. I didn't have much time, but the memory usage continuously rose when walking around doing different things.

Yea that's the only place I've tested rs.. chrome, firefox, safari.. everything will keep memory up even when logged out

I have a great pc (Am3,6gb ddr3, 3.40ghz quad) on this one it doesnt give any black screen.

But on my crappy full laptop it gives black screen.

Edit: its not only my laptop, i have let the program on but now it gave a blue screen! and i dont think that its a memory problem! this happend on my pc.

NextPlayer(False)
SwitchToPlayer(PlayerNo: 0, Active: False);

That's the error shown in Simba for all 6 of my bots in their black SMART windows.
Maybe it's unable to bank for some reason? Just throwing that out there, since it had the same error for all 6 bots before black screening.

So all of them were going to the bank? I haven't noticed where any of mine were when this has happened, but they can't do anything due to the black screen.. though, I doubt your 6 bots being at the bank when it went black was a coincidence though.. lol

must be something with finding certain things
