Yes its for downloading music. One of the drives on my music server recently tanked and I'm replacing the music (no I didn't have backups). So when I need to download a terabyte of MP3s, a slow torrent proves to be a real pain in the ass. I saw one my friends using this (he's doesn't have invite privileges) and they usually had 100:1 seed to leech ratio. On the more popular albums (Green Day and such), there were more seeders than on the ubuntu distros.
EDIT: Basically, I'm removing the pain in the ass factor. It also tends to be faster.

http://www.torrentfly.org/Aggregates search results from a bunch of different torrent sites which you can sort by seed.
Also if you simply google
" 'album name' + mediafire "
You will find most albums uploaded onto mediafire, which has very fast DL speeds.

Thanks for that site. Makes my life a lot easier. Still searching for what.cd invites nonetheless, but that's working pretty well at least for the moment.

I've only gotten one invite in the 2 years I have been at each of them :S
Smartz I realize what bitcoins are, but they don't seem to be able to sued to do anything. ie i can't find anywhere that accepts them as payment or does conversions. Halp?
