I was just wondering what everyones plans are for the XP weekend. Do you plan on buying materials for when the prices rice and sell to make some phatlewtz? What skills do you plan on training to maximize your time with the extra xp and what will your methods be.

I just want to get an idea for what i should spend my time doing. Right now, i plan on doing herbalore, construction, or magic and i think i might buy up oak planks.

I have ~36k steel bars that I bought the materials for back when iron was <100 gp ea. I used them to train magic on (Superheat ftw), but needless to say some profit will be made on those as well if the price on steel bars continues to rise.

As for myself, I'll be doing Construction and Summoning. I have some f2p bots running to cut oaks which I will make into planks a few days beforehand; and I'm also currently training slayer to gather as many charms as I can.

You can't get bonus exp with summoning.

In that case, I'll just wait for the few hours until my modifier has depleted to 1.1x anyways to do it.

I would say woodcutting next, but there won't be a single open ivy on any world. Anywhere.

I would also say I could smith the steel bars into CBalls instead of selling them, but I've got a feeling CBall prices will crash after the weekend because a lot of other people will be doing exactly that.

Looks like it'll be epic hours' worth of Construction then…

Personally, i'm going to do what i think is the most expensive thing to do, so that i save money if i want to do it in the future.

I think 70% of the players will either do Herblore or Ranged. Since I don't do Herblore and I recently got my Ranged cape, I'm not for sure what I'll do :confused:. Maybe burn some logs so my cannons don't keep blowing up in my face, then at 1.1x I'll use up my charms.

Why do you think people will do range?

Ranging with red chins during a bonus exp weekend is mass amounts of exp, same with bursting/barraging. You're likely to see red chinchompas shoot up in price the closer we get to the weekend, I'd imagine the same with clean herbs and unfinished potions.

If you put them straight into the patches, and have extras potted ready, then you can do the "check-health", which gives a tonne of xp, plant the next bunch of trees, and then log out. It keeps your multiplier high, and you get a lot of xp from this. I did it last time and gained about 1m farming xp. Magic trees and palms at the ready!

Well I jumped the gun a little and sold off the materials I had been hoarding earlier today. Made ~20M profit even after setting aside the materials I plan to use, thanks to pre-weekend price rises. Now I'm waiting to see what finished products crash after the weekend is over, so I can do it all again :thumbsup:

Thank you much Sir, I hadn't considered this strategy, but I'm definitely giving it a go ! :)

I plan on turning in 12 summer juices to get 81 thieving. Then I will check my trees and fruit trees(just decided that after seeing some above posts). Replant, log out. Once the trees are done growing, Ill log in, check health, then mine til i get bored.

What activities will NOT earn me bonus XP?

* Quest XP rewards
* Items/locations that already give bonus XP (e.g. ancient effigies, strange rocks, genie lamps, tomes of experience, goldsmithing gloves, Ectofuntus, POH altars, etc)
* XP rewards at the end of activities/distractions (e.g. Tears of Guthix, Soul Wars, Pest Control, jade vine, skeletal horror, giving sq'irk juice to Osman, etc)
* Anything which allows points to be exchanged for XP (e.g. Dungeoneering tokens, Penguin Points, Brimhaven Agility Arena tickets, Slayer incentives, Mrs Winkin's World of Seeds shop from Vinesweeper, etc)
* Any XP earned through the Assist system

Yeah, but if you wanted to focus the maximum amount of multiplier into farming, then logging out is the best way to do it. I.e. trees still grow while multiplier remains static, thus allowing great amounts of xp to be obtained ;)

Holding on to my goods until later today, then I'll dump them. I try to make the most profit I can merching off of these weekends :D

I am going to be mining the crud out of iron and coal.. then SHing steel bars.

i'm hoping to dump some lobbies and a load of logs. fingers crossed i can make some mula.

I have 30k chins, 83 ranged atm. Hopefully this weekend can get my close enough to 99 to use my hati gloves sometime in the near future to 99 ranged.

I need to get around 94ish ranged to have hati gloves get me to 99.

Anyone know if there will be a system update right before it starts? Because the double xp starts 15 minutes before my school starts and I kinda want to be autoing during school.
So if there isn't a system update I'll just start autoing right before I leave for school. But if there is, it wouldn't make much sense too…

So far I've done 40-47 farming (on one set of willows I already had planted) and 37-56 construction, and I've only used up a little over an hour of my time.

Since I'm out of materials for construction (or anything else, really), I'm trying to decide what to do next. I'll probably end up doing CB/Slayer, or spamming Camelot tele's for magic. I could also do WC on ivy or mine coal, but what fun would that be? Any suggestions?

If you want to make some money you could always cut yews, they're around 530 each at the moment ..or just pick a skill that's hard to lvl.
Not sure what else you could do, i've only started "playing" again since a few weeks ago :P

Should have done it the other way around. As soon as the bonus xp was announced you buy TONS of supplies.. planks, gold ammy's etc and then sell for the exp weekend ;)

Don't worry i did. I cut all the costs from what i bought by merchanting a little bit. Sadly, i was away for the majority of the weekend and only got two hours in :(

On main i stopped after 10 hours lol. Dropped to 1.125x, not worth it.

Bot did more tho lol

I did all botting, haha stuff playing that long, I get bored after 1 hour :p

I get bored after an hour too lmfao. This bonus xp weekend i gained 4 total lvls. 97-98 fishing/77-79 farming/86-87 mining.

My Total Level Is: 2242. :)

10 hours over 3 days isn't that bad to play :P.

One acc went from 68 fishing to like 76 fishing. Was happy with that. Now the dreaded slow ass sharks lol

Those are some nice levels everyone. You guys aren't afraid of getting banned botting on a main? Not sure if jagex commonly bans members.

SRL has a record of few bans compared to other communities :)

I gained 2.8m exp overall during the weekend :D
