Hey guys so i have this assignment given by my professor and he wants to know about different back up methods on different opperating systems such as the Mac and Windows.

I personally have used the Windows one and its pretty simple just takes forever imo. But i have never used a Mac one.

He also wants to know about different online sites ones. Have u guys used them? Free or paid ones? Post your experience below, i will be sure to cite your quotes and use them in my essay thanks in regards.

Here is the topic:

1. Research and compare built in Operating System backup utilities such as Time Machine on the
Mac and the Backup Utility on Windows with other backup utilities that automate the process of
backup to a local hard drive.

2. Research and compare online backup utilities. You should identify and compare three free
pieces of software such as dropbox.com and three paid services such as carbonite.com. Identify
which of the free ones is superior and why as well as which paid one is superior and why.

3. If you were to pick one of the backup utilities that you researched for your own personal use,
which would you choose and why.

… this sounds like your teacher is just looking for a solution and wants his students to do his work for him. o.O

lol its for extra credit so i suppose it is.

I haven't really looked into it as i was at my girlfriends house when i posted this, but i suppose i will have to start digging since there isnt that many that do backups as i thought there would be…

:/

Just google pros and cons of each. Sounds like he just doesnt want to do the work.
